ITZY Goes Viral for Performance at the 2021 Mnet Asian Music Awards
ITZY was one of the most mentioned names both during and after the 2021 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMAs). Though ITZY went home without a trophy in hand, the girl group delivered one of the best performances at the award show — from the plot to the choreography, ITZY's carefully invested performance brought a sense of grandeur among the other performances that night.
The efforts of JYP Entertainment and ITZY paid off. Even days after the MAMAs have ended, viewers worldwide are still excitedly talking about the members' live vocals, charisma and choreography. People have been replaying ITZY's performance continuously and, as of the time of writing, the video on Mnet's channel has over 5.8 million views and 533,000 likes. They are the most-watched performance from the 2021 MAMAs.

The video of ITZY's performance reached the top of the YouTube trending in 39 different countries worldwide, proving their efforts did not go to waste!
ITZY Ryujin Applauded for Acting Skills at the 2021 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMAs)
The performance became a hot topic thanks to the members' acting skills. During their performance of "LOCO," the members donned a cat woman concept, and the members were stunned with their sharp, expressive faces and ability to digest the theme.

The member who specifically earned praise is Ryujin. During the transition between "LOCO" and "Mafia in the Morning," Ryujin pretended to shoot Yeji and take the collar off her neck.
The idol then performed an action scene, pretending to fight several men. Due to Ryujin's acting skills, people felt like the scene was real!
In this scene and the intro video, she was also seen acting with actor Heo Sung Tae. Her interaction with the male actor earned praise for how well they both performed.
Yeji later revealed in a live stream that Ryujin attended a class for stunt actors to pull off her action scene. With input from professional stunt performers and Ryujin's hard work, the action scene went smoothly and went on to become of the highlights of the awards show.

Ryujin's acting sparked a comparison to actress Han Seo Hee. While she had been compared to the actress before, thanks to their uncanny resemblance and charisma, Ryujin's acting sparked more discussion. After watching the performance, some people joked that it felt like they were watching "My Name," a drama starring Han Seo Hee.
People hoped that JYP Entertainment would let Ryujin act in an action drama or movie, with people affirming that the female idol would be an excellent choice for an action role. Ryujin has acted in the film "The King" and BTS's "Love Yourself" highlight reel in the past.
