NCT's Douyoung, STAYC's Sieun, and Dojaena's Jaejae Confirmed to Host the 11th Gaon Chart Music Awards
The hosts for the 11th Gaon Chart Music Awards are finally confirmed. On January 25, the 11th Gaon Chart Music Awards website confirmed that NCT Doyoung, STAYC's Sieun, and Dojaena's Jaejae would be the hosts for the upcoming awards ceremony.
At first, Super Junior Eunhyuk and Sieun were the first announced as the hosts, however, Eunhyuk was diagnosed with COVID-19 and he won't be able to attend. Because of this, Doyoung and Jaejae were put in, and the 3MC system was confirmed.
Gaon Chart Music Awards Committee Takes Action Against Environmental Problems and COVID-19
Gaon announced that they decided to provide eco-friendly cartons of bottled water in the concert hall and install an air sterilizer. This is an action against the alarming rate of environmental problems and the seriousness of COVID-19.
According to Greenpeace, Koreans use 96 percent of bottled water per year each person, a total of 4.9 billion bottles per year. A representative of the Gaon Chart Music Awards said, "To reduce the amount of plastic used in the concert hall, we will reduce the amount of plastic used by providing eco-friendly bottled water to the audience and the entire cast."
In addition, the Gaon Chart Music Awards also announced an operation plan to put more effort into preventing the spread of COVID-19 by installing air sterilizers in all spaces of the concert hall. Plasma air sterilizers with sterilizing power against viruses and bacteria will be installed in various places in the concert hall, singer's waiting room, and spectator seats to actively prevent COVID-19.
Gaon Announces Lineup of 16 Artists For The 11th Gaon Chart Music Awards 2021
Last January 11, Gaon revealed more details about the upcoming 11th Gaon Chart Music Awards 2021. Along with the details, Gaon also revealed the 16 artists who will be appearing during the awards ceremony.

Last November 2021, Gaon revealed the nominees for every category at the music awards. The names of IU, IZ*ONE, BLACKPINK Rosé, BTS, Taeyeon, HyunA, ITZY, TWICE, Jeon Somi, and ENHYPEN came out, making fans more excited if their favorite artist will bring home an award from Gaon.
The 11th Gaon Chart Music Awards will be held at the Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium in Seoul on January 27 at 5 PM(KST). It can be watched online through Gaon's YouTube Channel.
