BTS' 'Boy With Luv' Makes History on Spotify as First Korean Song to Reach This Total Number of Streams

BTS' "Boy With Luv" is the First Korean Song in Spotify History to Achieve These Total Streams

On Feb. 6, BTS attained another milestone on Spotify. Their hit song "Boy With Luv" (featuring Halsey), in particular, reached a new peak in terms of streams.

"Boy With Luv" serves as the title track for the septet's sixth mini-album "MAP OF THE SOUL: PERSONA," which came out in April 2019. The song instantly became a hit, setting records on different music platforms.

As of Feb. 6, the K-pop song hit 800 million streams on Spotify. It took the track two years and nine months to reach the mark.

With this, "Boy With Luv" becomes the septet's first Korean-language song to accumulate that outstanding total number of streams. It is also their second track to do so after their English-language hit "Dynamite."

Other than that, BTS' "Boy With Luv" (featuring Halsey) is now the first-ever Korean song in Spotify history to gain 800 million streams, demonstrating its endless popularity to music fans. It even joins "Dynamite" as the only track by a Korean artist to obtain the feat.

With this new achievement, BTS' list of Spotify records has extended once more. They recently added the milestone of entering the top 10 most-streamed artists in Spotify history. Not only that, they are now the most-streamed group on the platform as the other nine singers are all soloists.

Further, the septet is now the most-streamed Asian artist on Spotify since the other acts inside the Top 10 all come from the Western World.

BTS has surpassed J Balvin and secured the No. 10 spot with more than 23.2 billion streams across all credits, 683 million streams of which were accumulated this 2022. As of Feb. 2, the boy group is the fourth most-streamed artist this year.

BTS' "7FATES: CHAKHO" OST Trends at No. 1 Worldwide After Its Snippet Was Released

In other news, a teaser for the original soundtrack of BTS' webtoon "7FATES: CHAKHO" was released and fans are going crazy about it.

On Feb. 6, a snippet of the "7FATES: CHAKHO" OST was uploaded. Fans quickly became more excited about the release of the song's full version after hearing BTS Jungkook's voice. Jungkook sang the whole track, while Suga worked on it as a producer.

While expressing their excitement, fans shared edits and an acapella version of the soundtrack. They even trended several hashtags and keywords related to the OST. "#StayAlive_CHAKHO" trended at No. 1 worldwide while "YOONKOOK" trended at No. 16.

Moreover, "#StayAlive_Jungkook" and "Jungkook vocal" rose to the top of Twitter trends in South Korea, while "Stay Alive" trended at No. 9 on Yahoo Japan. Other keywords like "JUNGKOOK'S VOICE," "OMG JUNGKOOK," "OST OF 7FATES" and more trended on Twitter.
