Taeyeon's 'INVU' Scores Highest First-Day Sales on Hanteo for Soloist in 2022
On Feb. 14, Taeyeon's third full album "INVU" alongside the music video for the title track of the same name was officially released. The album comes after the pre-release single "Can't Control Myself," which arrived on Jan. 17.

As of 3:20 p.m. KST on that day, "INVU" has already surpassed 10,000 copies sold on the Hanteo Chart, 11,407 copies to be exact.

Just an hour later, Taeyeon's "INVU" first-day sales impressively multiplied more than six times. A total of 69,148 copies were already sold as of 4:20 p.m. KST.
The sales continued to increase in the following hours even after the "INVU" music video was released at 6 p.m. KST. As of 7:20 p.m. KST, more than 82,000 album copies were recorded.

At the end of the day, Taeyeon's third full album "INVU" sold a total of 84,225 copies on Hanteo. It becomes the vocal queen's second-highest first-day sales in her solo career. Her highest record is 96,749 copies sold by her 2019 full album "Purpose."

Although Girls' Generation's main vocalist didn't break her own record, she has broken a record for a K-pop solo act this year.

Taeyeon's "INVU" has surpassed Moonbyul's "6equence" when it comes to the highest first-day sales for a soloist in 2022. "6equence" only sold 34,837 copies on its first day (Jan. 19).
Additionally, Taeyeon's "INVU" is now the second best-selling album by a K-pop female artist on the first day in 2022, to date, surpassing fromis_9's "Midnight Guest." It is only bested by Kep1er's "FIRST IMPACT," which remarkably sold a total of 150,153 on Jan. 3.

Taeyeon Beats Moonbyul's Record on iTunes as Female K-pop Soloist with 4th Most No. 1s
Besides breaking the first-day sales record for a soloist in 2022, Taeyeon's "INVU" has also surpassed Moonbyul's "6equence" when it comes to having the fourth most No. 1s on the iTunes chart.

As of 8 a.m. KST on Feb. 15, "INVU" has reached the top of iTunes Song charts in at least 21 different countries around the world, including Sweden, Turkey, Mexico, Japan, Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Peru, Israel, Lebanon, Chile and more.

Unlike Taeyeon's third full album, Moonbyul's "6equence" only scored 20 No. 1s on iTunes. It is anticipated whether "INVU" will record 22 No. 1s and join her previous albums "What Do I Call You" and "Purpose," as well as Wheein's "WHEE" and Hwasa's "Maria" as the album by female K-pop soloist with third most No. 1s on iTunes.

Meanwhile, Taeyeon's "INVU" has also landed at No. 1 on the Worldwide iTunes Album Chart. It even entered the top 5 of the US iTunes Album Chart at No. 5.
In South Korea, the album's title track "INVU" debuted at No. 1 on Bugs, No. 3 on Genie and No. 12 on MelOn.
