Jessica Jung Reportedly Making Re-Debut in Chinese Project Girl Group

On March 10, local Chinese media outlets reported that former Girls' Generation member turned solo artist and businesswoman, Jessica Jung, will be competing in the third season of the popular Chinese girl group re-debut program, "Sisters Who Make Waves," as a contestant.

"Sisters Who Make Waves" is a Chinese reality-survival program by Mango TV, which features female celebrities who are in their thirties and older, who will be competing for a chance to return on stage and make their re-debut as part of a brand new project girl group.

In the past seasons of "Sisters Who Make Waves," former miss A members Jia and Fei also appeared on the show as contestants, with Jia being one of the winning contestants after placing at No. 3 on the show.

Other celebrities who also joined the show is top Hong Kong actress, Cecilia Cheung, who garnered widespread attention for being one of the contestants in the show's previous seasons.

Meanwhile, Jessica Jung had lost around $1.6 million USD in a lawsuit against her former Chinese agency for a violation of her exclusive contract back in 2019.

Jessica Jung's Activities To Date

Following Jessica Jung's departure from Girls' Generation back in 2014, she has been active as a solo singer, actress, author, and businesswoman.

In 2016, Jessica Jung starred as the female lead in the Chinese film "I Love That Crazy Little Thing," acting opposite of William Chan, and Nicholas Tse.

In 2017, the former Girls' Generation member took the lead role in an autobiographical film about professional basketball player Stephon Marbury called, "My Other Home." She later joined in the Chinese sports variety show "YES! Coach," where Jessica Jung took part in the swimming competition after being trained by Sun Yang, a professional and Olympic-medalist swimmer.

Other shows that Jessica Jung appeared in is co-hosting "Beauty Bible" with Kim Jae Kyung, appearing as a representative of Coridel Entertainment on "MIXNINE," and more recently, starring in her own reality show "Jessica & Krystal - US Road Trip," alongside sister Krystal Jung.

In terms of music, Jessica Jung has so far released four mini-albums, with her latest being "My Decade," released back in August 2017. She also sang the original soundtracks for "Jessica & Krystal - US Road Trip."

Since 2014, Jessica Jung has been operating her own fashion brand Blanc & Eclare, and recently launched her first restaurant Clareau, located in Seoul, in January 2021.

In addition, she made her debut as an author with her novel "Shine" back in 2020 and released its sequel "Bright" in 2021.
