MAMAMOO Solar Reveals Moonbyul Has Started Seeing Her as Rival Following New Solo

Recently on March 15, MAMAMOO member Solar held a press interview which was released online. During her interview, she talked about her first mini-album, "容: Face," which dropped on March 16.

Talking about her members in light of her album release, Solar said, "The MAMAMOO members have been very supportive of me. They were particularly surprised when they listened to my latest tracks."

Solar added that she rapped in her songs on the album, and that her fellow members were actually surprised with that.

"I rapped in the album, and they [MAMAMOO] got really shocked about that. They were like, 'Wow, you rap as well?'" Solar shared.

Solar then revealed that she thinks her fellow member, Moonbyul, who is currently the group's rapper, now sees her as a rival after listening to Solar rap.

"When our [group's] rapper Moonbyul listened to my rap, I feel like she had started to see me as her rival," Solar said while laughing.

Solar then shared what kinds of words of encouragement the members gave her to show their support for her solo comeback.

"These days, we talk about our well-being a lot. They told me to stay healthy during my promotions, and to make sure I take good care of myself," Solar began.

She continued, "They had made their solo debuts before I did, so they know what it is like to promote on their own. They know what is good and bad really well, so they don't bother to mention each of it to me."

Solar added that the members had told her that she knows what it's like to promote, and to just do her best.

At the end of Solar's interview, the idol wished for the happiness of her fellow members. She says she feels closer to than other people, as well as herself.

MAMAMOO Solar Returns as a Solo Artist with '容: Face'

Meanwhile, on March 16, Solar returned as a solo artist with her second mini-album "容: Face." This is a year and 11 months after the release of her single album "Spit It Out," which was released back in April 2020.

"容: Face," was named after the Chinese character of Solar's real name, Yong in Kim Yong Sun. It contains a total of six tracks: "Raw," "Chap Chap," "Big Booty," "Zinggle Zinggle," "Spit It Out," and the title track "Honey."
