On March 16, MAMAMOO member Solar makes her first solo comeback in more than two years since her solo debut in 2020. She dropped her first mini-album "容: FACE." This comprises five songs including the title track "HONEY."
A house genre song, Solar's "HONEY" expresses how other people sweetly captivated her. But the soloist shared that the track has another meaning besides this.
On March 17, MAMAMOO Solar made a guest appearance in episode 89 of Jessi's "Showterview." This was uploaded to the "Mobidic" YouTube channel.

Toward the end of the video, there was a Q&A portion where show host Jessi asked Solar to talk about the title track of her new album, which is "HONEY."
The MAMAMOO member explained, "The title song is called 'HONEY.' So, I'm the queen bee. There are many queen bees across the world. And, honey bees bring honey to queen bees, right? While they bring me all the honey, I won't give my heart to anyone."

She continued, "I'm just having fun and enjoying my life," to which Jessi responded, "A playgirl?" But, MAMAMOO Solar says it's more like "playing hard to get."
Jessi then gave her a follow-up question, "You do so in real life as well?"
The soloist replied, "Of course not" and clarified, "If I was so in real life, I wouldn't do this kind of song,m." This made the host burst into laughter.
Jessi then commented, "That's true. Lyrics are just lyrics. [They're] different from reality. That's what I love about music. You can do whatever you want to do in music."
Later on, MAMAMOO Solar confidently shared that she tried rapping. Then, she rapped a few lines from her song.

MAMAMOO Solar's 'FACE' and 'HONEY' Debuts at No. 1 on iTunes Album Charts
In other news, MAMAMOO Solar's first mini-album "FACE" is receiving massive support from fans across the globe.
As of 9 a.m. KST on March 18, "FACE" had ranked No. 1 on iTunes Album charts in at least 20 different countries, such as Colombia, Mexico, Hong Kong, Brazil, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, and more.
"FACE" even successfully debuted at No. 1 on the Worldwide iTunes Album Chart. Now, it has spent two consecutive days atop the tally. With the album staying at No. 1 for two days in a row, MAMAMOO Solar has become the fifth female K-pop soloist in history to achieve this. She follows her bandmates Hwasa and Moonbyul, and Red Velvet Wendy, and (G)I-DLE Soyeon.

This 2022, Solar becomes the fourth female artist to hit No.1 on the worldwide chart after Moonbyul, Girls' Generation Taeyeon, and VIVIZ.
Meanwhile, the title song "HONEY" has also entered at No. 1 on iTunes Song charts in at least five regions, including Costa Rica, Malaysia, and Singapore. It even landed at No. 15 on the Worldwide iTunes Song Chart. This is Solar's highest peak on the list to date.
