Subin was born in Daejeon, Korea to a middle-class family. He's the youngest and only son among four siblings, and he has three older sisters. The male idol also has pets as family, including a Shih Tzu dog, Toto as well as cats, Mimi and Jaws.
Based on his bio, Subin attended Daejeon Goejeong Middle School Seoul Kyungil High School prior to showing interest in music. He revealed that some of his role models are BIGBANG G-Dragon and Taeyang.
