P.O Reveals Why He Join Marine Corps + Left Messages to Fans, Block B, WINNER Mino

On April 6, a video titled, "P.O Letter to Fans Before Enlistment (feat. IU) was released on the YouTube channel "GQ KOREA."

In the video, P.O. opened up on his reason he decided to join the Marine Corps, saying:

"My parents must have raised me preciously because I'm the only son. They told me to go work hard and become a stronger man. So I'm going to go and say, 'Okay.'"

As the interview went on, P.O left a series of video letters to his colleagues, including Block B members and his close friends such as WINNER Song Mino.

P.O said to Block B members:

"I'll hurry up and come back. Let's hurry up and get together.[...] "I'll think of you guys. I think they'll be right. I'm the youngest who doesn't listen."

To Minho, the "NalinA" singer said:

"What? Song Mino, you're my best friend, but why are you coming out here?"

Lastly, P.O conveyed his message to fans, saying:

"I'll be back in good health so that you don't worry. I'll be right back. Please wait a little longer."

Block B P.O Left Message for IU Before Enlistment – Here's Why It Attracts Criticism

While the male idol expressed messages to those with a close relationship with him, GQ Korea also asked P.O to send a message to the person he wants to leave a video greeting.

When he heard this, he hesitated for a while, but it seems like he has a person on his mind.

"Oh, maybe...No, no."

But then he continued:

"IU, Jieun, and our Lee Jieun. I was going to tell you that if you could come to the military unit... it would be too helpful for my military life, but I'm not going to say it."

In response, Block B P.O who asked singer IU to visit his military unit before joining the Marine Corps sparked an argument among netizens.

Some people raised their eyebrows and were displeased and stated:

"Why do you ask for it?"

"Why do you need IU to help your military life?"

"You're not even close to her personally."

 "If you say this, IU will eventually find out."

"It's rude."

Netters who criticized the singer pointed out that although P.O and IU worked together in tvN's "Hotel Del Luna," they have an awkward relationship.

It was noticeable due to the fact that despite them being the same age, the two celebrities continue to use honorifics and speak formally. Netizens pointed out that it was a request that could burden IU.

On the other hand, fans of P.O. came in defense and highlighted that it's not a big deal since there is a lot of idols enlisting who would ask girl group to visit them in the military camp as well.

"He's asking her carefully because he doesn't want her to feel pressured."

Meanwhile, P.O joined the Marine Corps Education and Training Corps on March 28 in Ocheon-eup, Nam-gu, Pohang.
