Truth Behind (G)I-DLE Miyeon's Relationship With Ex-YG Trainee Jung Jinhyung

In 2020, a post on Nate Pann titled "A girl group idol who got kicked out for going on a trip abroad with a male idol while they were minors" went viral. In the post, the user attached photos of (G)I-DLE member Miyeon with a male trainee during a trip to Japan.

The male trainee in question is Jung Jinhyung, who was a contestant on "MIX & MATCH," the survival show of former iKON.

Both Miyeon and Jung Jinhyun were former YG Entertainment trainees. The post accused the two of dating while trainees and going on a trip abroad when they were 17 years old, making them minors at the time. The post states that they broke up, and while Miyeon was in CUBE Entertainment, she was dating other trainees and idols from the label.

The post claimed that it was because of Miyeon and Jinhyung that YG Entertainment established a dating ban.

This post surprised many because Miyeon was known for looking gentle and innocent. Soon, Miyeon's fans stood up to defend the idol against the fake information being spread.

While it was confirmed that Miyeon dated Jung Jinhyung, they started dating after they left YG Entertainment. She left the company in around 2015 because she was unlikely to debut with BLACKPINK. When the photos were taken, Miyeon had not yet signed with CUBE Entertainment and was a student at a vocal academy.

Additionally, Miyeon was not 17 years old during the trip but 18 years old, meaning she was an adult.

The two have reportedly broken up, but there is no official confirmation from either party.
