NCT Female Version? New Girl Group to Debut With 24 Members
A 24-member girl group is attracting the attention of K-pop fans. What will be their concept and why are they being compared to NCT? Here's what we know!
TripleS Reveals First Member Yoon Seoyeon
On May 1, the agency MODHAUS released an announcement about the launch of its new girl group, tripleS and revealed its first member Yoon Seoyeon.
In the teaser video, the 01-liner caught the eye of K-pop fans for her visual, fair skin, round face, and cute features. The soon-to-debut idol also started by giving TMI, surprising viewers with the confession:
"I became a normal girl suddenly debuting as an idol trainee from the general public."
Yoon Seoyeon also showed off her talking skills by mentioning her friends' surprise birthday parties and comfortable appearances at travel destinations, as well as behind-the-scenes stories at the time of the teaser filming of tripleS (Triple S).
Expectations are already growing for Yoon Seoyeon's colorful charm spectrum revealed through the teaser.
'Is It Like NCT?': tripleS Shares Concept, Group's Size
Meanwhile, tripleS is an upcoming girl group under MODHAUS, which will be comprised of 24 members.
In regard to its concept, the group will follow a story based on NFT and K-pop. Here, the members will debut through a rotating system. Fans will be the ones to decide who will debut as a group, unit, or solo, allowing them to participate and communicate with the concept of the group.
The reason it's called tripleS (Triple S) is due to the determination of the company to look for girls with special abilities, called "s."
Although these girls (s) were living oblivious of each other's existence, they will join forces to become S and form a special team called, tripleS.

They will show their abilities through DIMENSION and will be recreated every season with new concepts and forms of group and solo activities.
Jung Byung Ki, the CEO of the agency, said:
"The goal is to create the world's first 'social entertainment ecosystem' that combines social games and K-POP through Triple S, global K-POP fans are also paying keen attention to the new experience with Triple S."
As soon as the teaser was posted, people have divided opinions about the group, even comparing it to NCT.
"It's like the female version of NCT."
In particular, NCT, launched by SM Entertainment, currently has 23 members and is the largest boy group and K-pop group in general. If tripleS will debut will 24 members, they are expected to break this record.
Nevertheless, while some are positively anticipating the group, some pointed out its disadvantages.
"But the 24-member group seems too much."
"It's going to be messy."
"For sure there will be a lot of akgae (solo stans)."
