Back in 2012, dating rumors between IU and Super Junior member Eunhyuk surfaced after a photo of the two singers was leaked online and immediately went viral across social media. This eventually became one of the more scandalous dating rumors in K-Pop history.
Around November 2012, IU accidentally posted an intimate photo of her and - what appeared to be - a shirtless Eunhyuk on a website called "yfrog." This caused a massive frenzy within the K-Pop community and the Korean entertainment industry.

After the photo quickly spread to different social media platforms, speculations that the two were married, or were getting married, arose. In addition, the two were also surrounded with pregnancy rumors.
Although IU immediately deleted the photo following her mistake, the spreading of the photo did not stop.
Later, IU's label at the time, LOEN Entertainment, released a statement trying to explain the situation.

According to LOEN Entertainment, Eunhyuk had visited IU at her home when she was experiencing a fever. While Eunhyuk's label, SM Entertainment, did not release any statement in regards to the dating rumors.
A few months after the incident, IU made a guest appearance on the SBS program "Incarnation." She publicly expressed her apology to her fans, Eunhyuk's fans, and those who were affected by the rumors.
At the time, she also confessed to having shared the photo by mistake, and said that there was no one to blame but herself.

Despite IU herself denying her romantic involvement with Eunhyuk, the rumor still floated around and continued. The two being subjected under the watchful eyes of thousands of fans who are looking for any indication that they are actually dating.
But after a while, the rumor eventually died down and became a mystery within the K-Pop community.

IU Relationship Status and Ideal Type
As of the moment, IU is currently single and is not dating anyone publicly. However, back in 2015, she confirmed her romantic relationship with singer Jang Kiha. The two dated from 2013 until 2017, and has since then remained good friends.
In regards to her ideal type, IU didn't give any specific requirements, and just stated that she wants someone who is healthy and will live a long life.
