‘Jieun You’re 30 Now’: IU Receives Heartwarming Birthday Greetings From Uaenas

IU Celebrates 30th Birthday as Uaenas Send Heartwarming Messages to Singer

On May 16 KST, "Strawberry Moon" hitmaker IU is celebrating her special day as she turns another year older.

In honor of ther 30th birthday, IU's label EDAM Entertainment revealed that she had donated a whopping 210 million KRW (around $163,500 USD) to multiple organizations, such as the Snail of Love, Korean Unwed Mothers' Families Association (KUMFA), the orphanage Eden Iville, and the social welfare organization Chang Inwon.

According to EDAM Entertainment, the hefty donation would be used for surgery and health treatment expenses for the children and adolescents who are hearing impaired, as support for single-parent families who are experiencing financial difficulties, and aid to childcare and disability facilities.

Aside from her donation, IU is also celebrating her birthday by receiving heartwarming messages and greetings from her fans, Uaenas, from all around the world.

In honor of her birthday, Uaenas took to their social media to celebrate the singer's birthday, and trended several hashtags such as "#30SpringsWithIU" and the phrase "Jieun you're 30 now" on Twitter.

In addition, they also changed their profile photos to that of Tweety, a popular character from the cartoon series "Loony Toons," as Tweety is known to be a favorite of IU and is also her profile photo on social media.

Along with these hashtags, Uaenas made sure to send their birthday greetings, in addition to sharing memorable photos and videos of IU through the years.

IU's Latest Activities

Meanwhile, IU recently collaborated with rapper Jay Park for the track "GANADARA" released back in March. In the same month, she also released her own documentary called "Pieces:29th Winter."

She is also set to release her film "Broker" this coming June 8 KST, and will be making an appearance at this year's Cannes International Film Festival.
