Who is Girl's Day Sojin?

Park Sojin, more commonly known by just Sojin, is a South Korean singer and a member of the now four-member girl group, Girl's Day. She debuted with the group under Dream T Entertainment back on July 7, 2010 as the leader and lead vocalist of Girl's Day.

After releasing numerous hit songs such as "Something," "Ring My Bell," "Twinkle Twinkle," "Darling," and more, Sojin parted ways with Dream T Entertainment in 2019 following her contract expiration. While the members are no longer under the same label and actively promoting as Girl's Day, they clarify that they have not disbanded.

1. Sojin majored in mechanical engineering

While most K-Pop idols apply for a major related to music, film, broadcasting, or theatre, Sojin decided to take a different route! Sojin majored in mechanical engineering at Yeungnam University and was given a scholarship during her stay. In fact, she was one of the eight girls out of 800 engineering students at the university.

During her student days at Yeungnam University, Sojin became known for her appearances at school, and even revealed that she almost never bought her own meals while she was still studying at the university.

2. Sojin was a vocal trainer

Prior to making her debut with Girl's Day in July 2010, Sojin took on another job to support herself. During her pre-debut days, Sojin became the vocal trainer of boy band Ulala Session, who became known for winning the third season of the competition program "Superstar K" in 2011.

With her background as a vocal trainer, it's not a surprise that she was able to land the position of lead vocalist in the group!

3. Sojin is an actress

Following Girl's Day indefinite hiatus, Sojin decided to pursue acting fully. In fact, the idol has been acting beginning with small roles since 2011. Sojin has appeared on several dramas and films, such as "Hot Stove League," "The King: Eternal Monarch," "The Greatest Marriage," and more recently, "Spring Day," "Sh**ting Stars," "Drama Stage," and the upcoming "Soul Marriage."
