SEVENTEEN's 'Face the Sun' Sales on the First Day Become Their Highest to Date
On May 27 at 1 p.m. KST, SEVENTEEN's "Face the Sun" was officially released together with the music video for the album's title song "HOT."

At 7:20 p.m. KST on that day, the number of copies sold on the Hanteo Chart had surpassed 900,000 (a total of 929,941 copies to be exact). This makes the 13-member boy group the fourth Korean artist in history to exceed 900,000 copies on the first day, following BTS, TXT, and trot singer Lim Young Woong.

At 8:20 p.m. KST, SEVENTEEN's "Face the Sun" sales eventually exceeded one million, selling a total of 1,013,650 copies. It went on to reach 1.05 million copies one hour later, and by the end of the day, a whopping 1,758,565 copies were sold.

"Face the Sun" has now broken the group's first-day sales record on Hanteo by almost doubling the previous amount. The record was initially held by their mini-album "Your Choice," which only sold 881,788 copies on June 18 of last year.
On top of that, SEVENTEEN has become the second Korean artist to ever earn a "million-seller" title on the first day in Hanteo's history (after BTS).

To date, BTS sold more than one million copies on the first day four times already, doing so with "MAP OF THE SOUL: 7" (2020), "BE" (2020), "Butter" (2021), and "MAP OF THE SOUL: PERSONA" (2021).
What's more impressive is that "Face the Sun" has also broken the group's first-week sales record of 1,364,127 copies sold by "Your Choice" as well.

Including SEVENTEEN's "Face the Sun" sales on the first day, the boy group has surpassed 10 million sales on Hanteo with all of their albums. This makes them the second artist in history (again) to achieve the feat (following BTS).
To recall, SEVENTEEN's "Face the Sun" broke the record for the third-highest pre-order amount in history by reaching 2.2 million stock pre-orders. Hence, it's no surprise that the studio album produced amazing results on just the first day of sales.

At approximately 11:25 p.m. KST on May 27, "Face the Sun" had landed on iTunes Album charts in at least 43 countries (No. 1 in 19 countries). The album also entered Apple Music Album charts in 33 different regions.
"Face the Sun" also landed on the iTunes Album chart in the United States, taking the No. 33 spot. It went on to peak at No. 8.

Meanwhile, SEVENTEEN's "HOT" debuted on iTunes Song charts in 45 different countries (No. 1 in 18 countries) and on Apple Music Song charts in five regions. Additionally, "HOT" peaked at No. 61 on the US iTunes Song chart.
On Korean music charts, SEVENTEEN's "HOT" debuted at No. 1 on Bugs, No. 26 on Genie, and No. 33 on MelOn at 2 p.m. KST on the 27th. It then entered at No. 100 on FLO at 8 p.m. KST.
Finally, SEVENTEEN entered at No. 18 on the Global Digital Artist chart.
