Soyee debuted as one of the main vocalists of gugudan way back in June 2016. The group's first release is a mini-album titled "Act.1 The Little Mermaid." Since then, she has been participating in comebacks and other schedules of the group.

However, she took a temporary hiatus in late 2017 to fully recover from a shoulder injury that she had been struggling with even before her debut. Despite her injury, she still managed to take part in the production of gugudan's single album "Act. 3 Chococo Factory."

After three months of break, Soyee rejoined her co-members and gugudan made a full-group comeback on Feb. 1, 2018 with their second single album "Act. 4 Cait Sith." The single album was followed by their third mini-album "Act. 5 New Action," which became their very last album as they disbanded in December 2020.
Why Did gugudan Disband and Why Did Sohee Leave Jellyfish Entertainment?
On Dec. 30, Jellyfish Entertainment announced that gugudan will disband on the 31st. The company said that they had a long and in-depth discussion with the members and came to a decision to officially end their group activities. However, the specific reason for gugudan's disbandment wasn't specified.

Jellyfish Entertainment also said that although gugudan will disband, the members will stay with the agency. But, Soyee ultimately left the label on March 31, 2021, along with Mimi. In a now deleted post she made on that day, she said that she decided to end her contract with Jellyfish as she would like to make a fresh start, and that she would take on new experiences in a broader range of fields.

After a little over a year since she left Jellyfish Entertainment, the whereabouts of former gugudan Soyee was unveiled.
On April 19, 2022, Soyee was announced to have signed with a new agency, specifically Noah Entertainment. She will now go by her birth name Jang So Jin and will make a fresh start as an actress.

She said, "It's such an honor to work with Noah Entertainment. I genuinely thank CEO Kwon Min Chul for believing in me and reaching out. Also, I will repay the fans who have waited a long time for me with active promotions. Please give me plenty of attention and support in the future."

CEO Kwon Min Chul commented, "It's an honor to work with a good artist like Jang So Jin, who doesn't only have a pure and elegant image, but also has limitless potential." He continued that they will actively support her so she could promote in various ways, from music to acting and broadcasts.

Soyee becomes another former gugudan member to enter the world of K-drama following the group's disbandment. In March 2022, it was revealed that Hyeyeon had joined Beyond J and will use the new stage name Jo Aram.
