When looking at K-pop artists, fans often get attracted by their sparkling eyes. However, many idols have poor eyesight, which can be due to myopia, hyperopia, or astigmatism. Here are K-pop idols with bad vision.

K-pop Idols With Bad Eyesight: EXO Suho, IVE Ahn Yujin, More

EXO Suho

EXO's leader usually appears in public with a captivating appearance that attracts millions of fans. Looking at Suho's eyes, only a few people may think he has no eye condition, but he is -14 diopters nearsighted. His vision is so bad that he can't see anything more than 7cm away clearly.

Because of this, EXO Suho always has to wear contact lenses for every stage performance. Moreover, he didn't enlist as an active duty soldier due to his myopia and had to be a public service worker.

B1A4 Sandeul

B1A4 Sandeul is also a K-pop idol with bad eyesight. In fact, he is -13 diopters nearsighted, coming second to EXO Suho. But that was already in the past, as he had eye surgery and now his vision is normal. He confessed this fact during his appearance on MBC's "Radio Star."

IVE Ahn Yujin

IVE Ahn Yujin is one of the female K-pop idols with poor vision. She has negative nine diopters eyesight, according to Mnet's TMI News. It is said that she has been nearsighted since elementary school due to reading books.

Despite wearing thick glasses, she still boasts stunning visuals.

DAY6 Wonpil

DAY6 member Wonpil is said to have inherited his nearsightedness. But he doesn't hesitate to wear glasses at fan meetings, TV shows, and stages. The JYP artist's eyesight measurement is negative 8.5. But with or without glasses, no one can deny his cuteness.

TWICE Dahyun

Another female K-pop idol with bad eyesight is TWICE Dahyun. The "SCIENTIST" singer is negative 5.5 diopters nearsighted, making her the TWICE member with the most severe myopia. She typically wears glasses off camera and wears contact lenses for her entertainment activities.

VERIVERY Kangmin

During his live broadcast of Naver V LIVE, VERIVERY Kangmin revealed to the viewers that he is nearsighted and had to wear thick glasses. He didn't give much detail about it, but he can be seen wearing glasses while communicating with the fans- and his visuals remain unchanged.

MONSTA X Shownu

According to Mnet's TMI News, MONSTA X Shownu also has poor eyesight, with his eyesight in his left eye measuring negative 4.50, while his right eye is negative 5.25. But like B1A4 Sandeul, the "Love Killa" singer also underwent eye surgery after he was informed that there was an abnormality in his retina in his left eye.

BTS Jin

BTS Jin is known to have worn glasses before his debut. But unlike the K-pop idols mentioned above, Jin is farsighted. It is said that one of his eyes has plus one (+1) eyesight. Therefore, he would wear glasses on BTS reality shows and other video content.

TWICE Nayeon

Nayeon is another member of the group who has bad eyesight.

During an episode of "The Manager," Nayeon's manager is heard desperately asking if the idol decided to wear glasses during filming. Just the very thought of Nayeon wearing glasses made her manager sigh!

This is because Nayeon's eyesight is so bad, the lens of her glasses is incredibly thick and powerful. Therefore, whenever she wears glasses, her eyes look much smaller than they actually are. Nayeon confessed she has bad eyesight and wears glasses outside of her schedules.

SEVENTEEN Wonwoo

Long-time CARATs are well-aware of this fact. In fact, the male idol has even been spotted squinting on stage when trying to look far ahead, proving he is near-sighted. With his constant squinting, many have wondered why Wonwoo does not wear contacts on stage.

EXO D.O.

It's not just Suho who has bad eyesight in EXO, D.O. too!

D.O. is near-sighted and has astigmatism, which makes it difficult for him when there are bright lights and flashes.

His bad eyesight once got him into a fight with Kai when they were trainees! Kai thought D.O. was glaring at him and was so offended that he refused to eat with D.O. for a while. However, D.O. meant no harem; he just couldn't see him that well!

MAMAMOO Solar

Solar revealed just how bad her eyesight is to fans during a chatting session with fans on the now-defunct V Live in 2018.

Solar revealed her eyesight is -4.50 (left) -5.00 (right), and astigmatism 0.75. Because of that, she always wears glasses at home. When asked about getting LASIK surgery to help her vision, she expressed her worries, saying the procedure sounded scary.
