During her appearance on SBS MTV's "YoGoBaLa" back in August 2018, Umji shared that she didn't have any specific dreams at first, but after gaining an interest in stage production and management in middle school, she wanted to enter a performing arts high school. That's why she enrolled in the School of Performing Arts (SOPA) in Seoul.
