After 10 years in the K-pop scene as EXO, Xiumin will finally broaden his music spectrum as a solo artist through the release of his first mini-album, "BRAND NEW."
In particular, this will become Xiumin's first solo album since his debut, making him the seventh member to pursue a solo career following Baekhyun, Chen, Suho, Lay, Kai and D.O.
As more K-pop enthusiasts conveyed anticipation of the singer's solo, more details were also revealed online.
According to News1, "BRAND NEW" will contain a total of five songs emphasizing the male idol's various charms. One of the b-sidetrack will be "Serenity," a pre-released track Xiumin performed first at "SMTOWN LIVE 2022: SMCU EXPRESS @HUMAN CITY_SUWON" held on August 20.
The track is expected to attract global fans' attention as it was described as a gift to fans.
As per the information from ktown4u, there will be 3 VERSIONS including two photobooks with different covers and one digipack version.
Meanwhile, Xiumin's first solo album "BRAND NEW" will start pre-ordering at various online and offline record stores from September 5, and the album will be officially dropped on September 26.

Upon the news, EXO-Ls (fandom of EXO) and ELSAs (Xiumin's supporters) expressed their excitement on online communities and social media platforms, making Xiumin's name rise to trending topics, especially on Twitter.
In fact, the hashtag #XIUMIN_BrandNew ranked No. 1 in the Philippines, while the phrase "엑소 시우민" (EXO Xiumin) also sat atop South Korea's top trends along its album title and release date. The aforementioned hashtag also debuted at #49 on Twitter Worldwide.
On iTunes, fans of the idol from Peru also celebrated the news by streaming Xiumin's 2019 single, "You," charting again at #9.
On the other hand, Xiumin has gained global popularity with various music activities such as EXO and EXO-CBX, solo songs, OSTs, and collaborations, and is loved as a multi-tainer in a wide range of fields such as musicals, movies, and entertainment.
On August 18, it was confirmed that Xiumin will release his first solo album since his debut in September following his military enlistment.
Although Xiumin has been participating in various drama OSTs and singles such as "You, " You Are The One," "Young & Free" and "To my one and only," this is the first time that he will release a single album, marking his official solo debut.
