Every K-pop idol who has debuted had to undergo a rigorous training program. This was a rough time for most idols, as they trained without the promise of debuting. The training program has a "military discipline culture" due to the middle and high school students gathering and living together.

Several idols have spoken out about the training program. For example, TXT member Soobin revealed on "No Prepare" that there was a strict hierarchy when he was a trainee. Soobin recalled having to treat his senior trainees with respect despite their age difference.

Red Velvet Seulgi Once Cried Because of Junior Trainees

However, for Red Velvet member Seulgi, she revealed she was unable to show her seniority to her junior trainees.

This is due to her sweet and kind personality.

To promote her debut single, "28 Reasons," Seulgi appeared on "Neighborhood Star K2" on October 8. There, Seulgi chatted with MC Jonathan and talked about her trainee days.

Before she debuted in Red Velvet, Seulgi trained under SM Entertainment for nearly seven years. She told Jonathan, "I trained for several years. So when I debuted, I was the most with the most experience."

While training, Seulgi once got mad because some trainees were slacking off. Seulgi wanted to call them out and say, "If you guys act like this, you will not be able to debut. This is the most important time in your life."

However, the Red Velvet member was too soft-hearted. She was unable to show the trainees how angry she was. Instead of scolding them, she ended up crying loudly alone, saying, "You cannot do that!"

She explained why she wanted to discipline the other trainees, saying, "It was a really important period of their lives. If they fail here, they must find another life path."

As he listened to Seulgi's story, MC Jonathan responded that her sincerity must have touched the hearts of the junior trainees.
