ITZY Reveals More Stops for 'CHECKMATE' World Tour- Which Cities Are Included?

On Oct. 17, ITZY uploaded a poster to their official social media accounts announcing more shows for their first-ever world tour, "CHECKMATE."

According to the post, the "SNEAKERS" singer will hold concerts in four different cities in Southeast Asia in 2023. They will first head to Manila, Philippines (SM Mall of Asia Arena) on Jan. 14, followed by Singapore (The Star Theatre) on Jan. 28, Jakarta, Indonesia (Tennis Indoor Senayan) on Feb. 4, and Bangkok, Thailand (Thunder Dome) on April 8.

This isn't the first time the girl group will visit these four Asian cities as they previously met fans in those regions during their 2019 premiere showcase tour "ITZY? ITZY!" following their debut.

ITZY's "CHECKMATE" world tour already kicked off in early August this year. The girls held two shows on Aug. 6 and 7 at the SK Olympic Handball Gymnasium in Olympic Park, Songpa-gu, Seoul, marking their very first solo concert in the city in three and a half years since their debut.

The "LOCO" singers will continue their world tour this October in North America. They will hold shows in Los Angeles on Oct. 26, Phoenix on Oct. 29, Dallas on Nov. 1, Houston on Nov. 3, Atlanta on Nov. 5, Chicago on Nov. 7, Boston on Nov. 10, New York on Nov. 13.

To date, ITZY's "CHECKMATE" world tour consists of 14 shows in 13 different cities. But as per their post, more stops are yet to be announced. So MIDZYs in other countries should stay tuned.

ITZY's "Boys Like You" comes after the group's new mini-album "CHECKMATE," which came out on July 15 this year. This EP features the title song "SNEAKERS," which talks about following one's heart instead of focusing on other people's words.

To recall, "CHECKMATE" was a commercial success as it debuted at No. 1 on South Korea's Circle Album Chart with 700,000 units sold in the first week of its release. This marks the girls' fourth time to top the album chart and their biggest-selling album so far.

Additionally, the mini-album nearly doubled the group's previous first-week sales. It sold 472,394 copies on the Hanteo Chart from July 15 to 21, surpassing their initial best record of 259,705 copies set by their first studio album "CRAZY IN LOVE" in September of last year.

Apart from the EP, the title track "SNEAKERS" was also well-received by fans. The music video for the song hit 100 million views on YouTube just one month, 11 days, and 16 hours after its release. It is the group's seventh MV to achieve the milestone, following "DALLA DALLA," "ICY," "Not Shy," "WANNABE," "In the morning," and "LOCO."

As of this writing, the number of views for ITZY's "SNEAKERS" MV had reached 115.5 million on YouTube.
