Red Velvet Wendy's Bubble Messages About Album Sales Become Hot Topic- What Did She Say?

Album sales are one of the ways K-pop fandoms can support their favorite artists, with many fans mass buying to help boost the sales and collect all the photocards of the group members.

Because of fans' massive support, there are artists who surpass one million copies in the first week of the album's release, and even two million copies.

However, it turns out that not all K-pop acts care about the album sales, as they worry about the fans' health and happiness more. One of them is Red Velvet Wendy, whose Bubble messages recently became a hot topic online.

On Oct. 18, Wendy took the time to communicate with ReVeluvs on DearU Bubble. At one point, one fan told her, "I will earn money to go to unnie's concert and buy an album."

The female idol responded, "I don't know about the concert, but don't buy multiple albums, please. One album is enough, and listening to and supporting our music is also enough."

Red Velvet Wendy then told the fans what they should do instead of buying too many albums.

"With that money, I hope you take care of your health and eat delicious food with your family, or go on your own to buy a delicious meal for yourself who has worked hard all day," she said.

The "Feel My Rhythm" singer went on to say that if fans are earning money, then they should eat delicious food, buy heating pads for the cold days, and use it for their medical needs.

Red Velvet Wendy also mentioned how people pay attention to album sales too much, saying:

"It seems like everyone cares too much about how many copies are sold when an album comes out, but I think that's not important."

She added that what's more important is that there are people who support you and people who listen to your songs. She once again emphasized that fans should use the money to buy something really good, eat something warm, and wear warm clothes instead of buying several albums.

Red Velvet Wendy later told ReVeluvs that she will suggest to her company to produce only one version of their albums so that fans won't have to buy various versions, which K-pop entertainment agencies usually distribute.

She stated, "It seems like you buy the various versions of the album when it comes out. Try not to buy multiple albums. Who knows, it will come out in one version soon. I will suggest that only one version should be released. I don't know if they'll accept my opinion, but I'll give it a shot."

How Are People Reacting to Red Velvet Wendy's Bubbles Messages About Album Sales?

Screenshots of Wendy's Bubble messages were shared on the online forum Nate Pann, and the post has since garnered hundreds of thousands of views. It has been viewed more than 197,000 times, as of this writing.

Here's how K-netizens are reacting:

"Even during their comeback with 'Feel My Rhythm,' Yeri doesn't care much about their sales or chart rankings."

"Please tell SM Entertainment to release only one version [of the album]."

"Wendy seems kind, but I don't think I'll spend money on that level."

"You have a beautiful heart, more than anything else, you don't take fans' love for granted."

"Wendy is really a good person. A person like that should be treated well."

"But then again, if you sell a lot of albums and rank high, the company takes care of you, so if you want to have a good image for a long time, album sales are important."

"But the company has to make a profit, so the albums have to do good."
