Big Hit Music Asked to Move Release Date of BTS Jin's 'The Astronaut' Digital & Physical Albums
BTS Jin is officially making his long-awaited solo debut later this month, and ARMYs couldn't get any more excited for his upcoming release.
Titled "The Astronaut," Jin's first solo single contains lyrics co-written by him and British rock band Coldplay (which previously collaborated with BTS for their smash hit "My Universe"). It is due out digitally all over the world on Oct. 28 at 1 p.m. KST.

However, some ARMYs are concerned about the album performance of BTS Jin's "The Astronaut" due to the various release dates of its physical version in different countries. While the shipping of the physical album in South Korea will start on Oct. 28, it will only begin in Japan and the United States & Europe on Nov. 6 and Dec. 2, respectively.
For starters, the sales of the physical version of an album is one of the factors to earn a spot on Billboard's album charts, such as Hot 100 and Billboard 200. But because the release of "The Astronaut" physical album in the U.S. will not be until Dec. 2, the project may not appear on Billboard charts soon.

In a tweet, one ARMY tagged Big Hit Music and BTS, and said:
"The digital release date of Jin's solo single "The Astronaut" overseas and the release date of the physical album differ by more than a month, which is expected to have a negative impact on the first week sales count and album performance."
The fan then suggested:
"In order for the artist's efforts and results to be properly evaluated, we strongly request that the digital album be released in 'early November' at the same time as the physical release."
In the comments section of the tweet, other ARMYs copied the post and also tagged Big Hit Music and BTS, hoping to get the company's attention in order to move the release date of Jin's "The Astronaut."

Another ARMY shared the tweet on the online forum Nate Pann, and wrote, "Last time, they blocked all the sales figures and this time, they're acting like we can't count the actual first-week sales."
Other Nate Pann users commented:
"HYBE is Bangtan's rival."
"Honestly, the way they're trying to lower their dependence on Bangtan is disgusting."
"It's better to leave a company like that. I bet they'll keep pulling stuff like that, so I recommend leaving HYBE."
"No but why is the agency fighting with the artist like that? They're doing so many acquisitions to lower their dependence on Bangtan just so they can ignore them in the end."
