Every K-pop artist, either an idol group and soloist, gives their fans a collective name or fandom name to distinguish them from other groups of people. Among the popular K-pop group fandom names include EXO-L or Eris, ARMY, ONCE, BLINK, Carat, STAY, ReVeluv, among others. Many fans are probably familiar with idol groups' fandom names, so in this article, we'll focus on the K-pop fandom names of female soloists you may not know about.

IU: Uaena

Although IU debuted in 2008, it was only in 2017 when the official name of her fandom was decided. IU's fans are generally called Uaena, where "U" stands for "you" in English, "ae" is Sino-Korean for "love and "na" is Korean for the English term "me." When combined, the fandom name means "You love me."

Besides their collective name, IU's fans have several nicknames. Her male fans are called "geonbbang," which means biscuit. (Biscuits are one of IU's favorite snacks). Whereas the female fans are called "byulsatang," which means star candy.

Jo Yuri: Glassy

Many may not also be aware of the K-pop fandom name of female soloist Jo Yuri. Her fans are named GLASSY, which represents the female idol's first beginnings, as well as the people who make her the most "Jo Yu Ri." (In Korean, "Yu Ri" is the same as the word for "glass.")

Kwon Eunbi: Rubi

Kwon Eunbi is another former IZ*ONE member on our list, together with Jo Yuri. As a group member, she called her fans WI*ZONE, but now that she's a solo artist, her fans are named Rubi. Rubi is a combination of Ruby (the color red and her favorite color) and Eunbi, which means precious and shining to her.

AleXa: A.I Trooper

Fans who watched Mnet's "Produce 48" are surely familiar with Alex Chrstine, who is now known as the soloist AleXa. Her fans are officially known as A.I Trooper. The name aligns with her concept since her debut which has been A.I-themed.

HyunA: A-ing

Like IU, it also took HyunA a long time before she officially announced the name of her fandom. After seven years since her solo debut, HyunA revealed that her fan club is called "A-ing." The idol personally picked this name, making it extra special. The "A" comes from her name "HyunA," and the suffix "-ing" expresses her wish of a lasting connection with fans.

Jessi: Jebbies

Another K-pop fandom name of a female soloist on our list is Jebbies, which collectively refers to the fans of the "ZOOM" hitmaker Jessi. Jebbies is a combination of Jessi and babies, which means Jessi's babies. But in Korean, "Jebi" means swallow bird, and that's why she has a bird tattoo on her wrist.

Sunmi: Miya-ne

Regarding the fans of "Gashina" hitmaker Sunmi, they are generally named "Miya-ne," which means "Sunmi's family" or "Sunmi's home." The name stresses the fact that her fans are on her side.

Chungha: Byulharang

Chungha's fandom name is Byulharang (Moon Friends) wherein she is the moon and her fans are the stars. Notably, her logo has a moon to symbolize herself with eleven stars representing members from her previous group I.O.I and her fans.
