2022 People's Choice Awards: BTS, BLACKPINK & Jungkook Join List of Nominees

The 2022 People's Choice Awards has revealed the list of nominees, and three K-pop artists- BTS, BLACKPINK and Jungkook- are among them. Keep reading to know in what categories they are nominated.

2022 People's Choice Awards: BTS, BLACKPINK & Jungkook Join List of Nominees

On Oct. 26 local time, the People's Choice Awards released its list of nominations for the forthcoming award ceremony, which recognizes people in the entertainment field. Winners are determined through votes by the general public.

BTS was nominated as a group in three categories. For the fifth consecutive year, the septet is running for The Group of 2022 and The Music Video of 2022 for their latest song "Yet to Come (The Most Beautiful Moment)." They are also nominated for The Concert Tour of 2022 for "Permission to Dance on Stage."

Meanwhile, BTS member Jungkook earned two nominations at the 2022 People's Choice Awards for "Left and Right," his hit collaboration song with Charlie Puth. The track is nominated for The Music Video of 2022 and The Collaboration Song of 2022. This marks Jungkook's first time to be a nominee at the award show as a solo artist.

Lastly, BLACKPINK was nominated for two awards: The Group of 2022 and The Music Video of 2022 (for "Pink Venom"). This is the third non-consecutive year that the girl group was listed as a nominee in these two categories. They were unable to earn nominations in 2021 as they didn't make a comeback as a whole.

The 2022 People's Choice Awards will air live on Dec. 6 at 9 p.m. ET, and voting will begin on Nov. 9 at 11:59 p.m. ET on their official website. Check out the complete list of nominees here.

BTS and BLACKPINK's Wins and Nominations at Previous People's Choice Awards

Back in 2018, BTS was one of the nominees for The Group of the Year, Music Video of the year (for "Idol"), Social Celebrity of the Year, and Song of the Year (for 'Idol"). Notably, they won in all four categories.

In 2019, the "Yet to Come" singers were once again nominated for The Group of 2019 and The Music Video of 2019, as well as for The Concert Tour of 2019. They were up against multiple artists including BLACKPINK, who ultimately won in all three categories.

At that time, BLACKPINK 's "In Your Area World Tour" was a nominee for The Concert Tour of 2019, while the "Kill This Love" MV ran for The Music Video of 2019.

The following year, both BTS and BLACKPINK were revealed as People's Choice Awards nominees in various categories. Both of them were running for The Group of 2020 and The Music Video for 2020. BTS was also nominated for The Song of 2020 (for "Dynamite") and The Album of 2020 (for "MAP OF THE SOUL: 7"). The boy group eventually took home the trophies for all four categories.

In 2021, BTS bagged nominations for three awards: The Group of 2021, The Music Video of 2021, and The Song of 2021 (for "Butter"). They had two entries for The Music Video of 2021, such as "Butter" and "My Universe" (with Coldplay). They were named as the winner in all three categories but for The Music Video of 2021, "Butter" was the only winner.
