From (G)I-DLE's "Nxde" to BLACKPINK's "Shut Down," these K-pop music videos gained the most views on Youtube in October 2022!

(G)I-DLE's 'Nxde' is the Most Viewed K-pop Music Video in October 2022

Taking over to become the most viewed K-pop music video for the month of October is (G)I-DLE and their latest hit single "Nxde."

According to K-pop Radar on November 1, "Nxde" had amassed a total of 91,762,202 views on its music video over on Youtube in the month of October alone, which is a great view count considering it was only released on October 17.

"Nxde" is the title track of (G)I-DLE's fifth Korean mini album entitled "I Love," which was released on the same day and came seven months after the group released their first studio album "I Never Die" back in March of this year. This also marks the group's second release with only five members, following Soojin's departure back in August 2021.

"Nxde" is an alternative pop track written, composed, and arranged by member Soyeon that samples an aria from "Habanera" from Georges Bizet's 1875 opéra comique Carmen. Lyrically, the song has a concept of "comparing the undecorated and dignified figure to the nude."

Regarding the song's concept, Soyeon stated, "It could be seen as obscene or it could be too lewd. But I consider nude not as just being naked, but being bare."

BLACKPINK's 'Shut Down' is the Second Most Viewed K-pop Music Video in October 2022

Once again remaining atop and amassing a hefty amount of views for their music video is none other than BLACKPINK and their latest title track "Shut Down."

"Shut Down" was released back on September 16, and had amassed an additional 68,199,524 views on their music video for the month of October. This brings the music video's total view count up to 209,598,745 by the end of the month.

"Shut Down" is the title track of BLACKPINK's second studio album "BORN PINK," which is the girl group's first album release as a whole group in more than two years following their first studio album, "THE ALBUM," released back in October 2020.

The song is a hip-hop based track featuring bass sounds, and samples "La Campanella" by violinist Niccolò Paganini. "Shut Down" was written and composed by Teddy, Vince, 24, and Danny Chung. Lyrically, the song is a clap back to all of BLACKPINK's haters.
