EXO-Ls rejoice as EXO Chen has an upcoming appearance on "MMTG." Unfortunately, some are raising their eyebrows at the idol promoting his solo release.

EXO Chen To Appear on MMTG, Sparks Curiosity About the Special Guest in Teaser

On the YouTube channel of "MMTG - Civilization Express" on November 17, a video featuring "Ditto" stars Yeo Jin Goo, Jo Yi Hyun and Na In Woo was uploaded. At the end of the released video, EXO Chen appeared in the trailer of the episode set to be released next week.

In the short clip, Chen said:

"I didn't make many friends (while I was active)."

MC JaeJae then suggested:

 "I'll make friends for you."

Subsequently, EXO leader Suho appeared in the teaser through a recorded video greeting and hinted at promoting Chen by saying:

 "I introduce Chen, my younger brother."

Just then, a mysterious man appeared to build a friendship with Chen.

The episode revealing Chen's journey will be aired on November 24 at 5 p.m. KST.

Chen's appearance on "MMTG" will be to promote his third mini-album, "Last Scene," released on Nov. 14. The title song with the same name is a ballad that harmonizes beautiful piano melodies and string performances.

The lyrics depict the bittersweet story of a couple's breakup and their last scene gradually disappearing.

EXO-Ls anticipated his release since this is his first solo comeback since he left for his military service in 2020. During his comeback showcase, EXO Kai served as the MC.

But amid excitement with his promotion as a soloist, some were angry, especially Korean fans.

After watching the MMTG teaser where Suho appeared, Kerries called out Chen for using EXO to promote himself, saying:

• "Don't use EXO members."
• "What do you have to say when you come out?"
• "Don't tarnish EXO's image and leave the group."
• "Withdraw from the group."

In particular, his negative reputation among Koreans started when he reported his wedding and pregnancy with his non-celebrity girlfriend in January 2020.

Currently, the couple has two kids. His wife gave birth to the second in 2022.

They felt "betrayed" by the sudden announcement, and a lot were also displeased about his pre-marital pregnancy, which they claimed to have "destroyed" the image of EXO.

OT6 fans also explained that it is not right for Chen to make a living out of EXO-Ls' pocket.

As a result, some Koreans announced the start of their on-site petition against Chen and Chanyeol, demanding they withdraw from the group.

In response, OT9 EXO-Ls responded:

• "It's already been about three years but you are still going?"
• "You are not a real fan."
• "Whether you like it or not, EXO will remain as EXO with Chen and Chanyeol."
• "How about we kick you out as well from the fandom?"
