HyunA & DAWN's Promise to Each Other Re-Examined Following Their Breakup

On Nov. 30, HyunA took to her personal Instagram account to let her fans know that she and DAWN have broken up and that they decided to remain as good friends and colleagues from now on.

On the same day, a discussion about their promise to one another began after a netizen created a post on the online community Nate Pann. The netizen shared screenshots of the time the two idols appeared together on a web show.

Back in September 2021, HyunA and DAWN appeared as the guests in episode 13 of YouTube channel Studio Waffles' web show "Turkids on the Block."

In this episode, "Turkids on the Block" host Lee Yong Jin brought up DAWN and HyunA's promise to each other that even after they break up, they wouldn't delete their pictures together from their social media accounts.

Lee Yong Jin then asked if this promise was still valid. In response, DAWN said, "I think that I'll be able to leave them there."

At the end of the post, the netizen wrote, "That's what they said but I wonder if they'll really leave them there?"

However, it appears like HyunA and DAWN broke their promise to each other, as other Nate Pann users pointed out that they have deleted all their photos together, except for the sponsored and advertisements pictures.

One netizen commented, "If they delete their pictures after saying something like this publicly, I bet that they broke up because one side did something wrong."

Meanwhile, when the "PING PONG" singers appeared on "Turkids on the Block," it was also that time when DAWN said that he won't love anyone again after his breakup with HyunA.

HyunA and DAWN began dating in 2016 and announced their relationship to the public in 2018. This past February, the two announced their engagement on Instagram.

HyunA & DAWN's First Album Together

On Sept. 9 of last year, HyunA and DAWN released their first album together, titled "1+1=1." The EP features the title song "PING PONG" and three B-side tracks.

"PING PONG" is a moombahton dance track that expresses the chemistry of a couple in love. DAWN and HyunA wrote the lyrics for the song and co-composed it alongside Kwon Philip, Yoo Gun Hyung, and SPACE ONE.

Following its release, "PING PONG" debuted at No. 5 on MelOn Latest 24Hits chart while it entered at No. 8 on Bugs and No. 58 on Genie.

On the Circle Album Chart, "1+1=1" debuted at No. 13 in the week ending on Sept. 11. On the monthly album chart for September 2021, the EP debuted at No. 38 with 14,824 copies sold.

On Aug. 9 this year, the music video for "PING PONG" surpassed 100 million views on YouTube. It took the MV 10 months and 30 days to reach this milestone.
