3 K-pop Idols Who Got Scolded by Company Staff During Livestream

There have been many cases of K-pop idols getting mistreated by their companies. The most recent controversy concerns OMEGA X, whose members suffered abuse and harassment from their agency's former CEO. While several mistreatments weren't seen or heard by fans, there are a few instances that were caught live. In particular, the three K-pop idols below got scolded by company staff during a livestream.

3 K-pop Idols Who Got Scolded by Company Staff During Livestream

1. EVERGLOW Aisha

In June 2021, the hashtag "#ProtectEverglow" trended on Twitter after a now deleted V Live voice-only livestream featuring EVERGLOW members was uploaded and quickly made rounds online.

In the shared clip, a man can be heard yelling at someone. The original Twitter user alleged that based on the audio clip, the person he was yelling at was EVERGLOW Aisha. His yell was so loud that it even startled another EVERGLOW member, who can be heard saying "Oh jeez, he freaked me out" during the livestream.

The audio clip was immediately deleted from EVERGLOW's V Live account by their agency Yuehua Entertainment without giving any notice. This made fans even more concerned about the idols and eventually demanded the company to release an explanation about what had happened during the broadcast. However, no official statement was released by Yuehua.

2. Park Bom (2NE1)

Another case where a K-pop idol got scolded by company staff during a livestream involves former 2NE1 member Park Bom. It happened on Christmas day in 2020 when the female soloist was interacting with her fans and celebrating the holiday with them through an Instagram livestream. The celebration was interrupted when her manager disrespected her in front of thousands of fans.

While talking to the fans, Park was listening to music and was really happy until her manager entered the room she was in. The manager looked extremely angry and can be seen getting upset at the female idol for not answering a phone that was meant for her. She then told the artist to end the livestream.

After the manager left the room, Park Bom became silent and looked sad. She then mumbled, "Why is she blaming?" before ending the broadcast without bidding farewell to the fans.

Following that incident, her fan club called BOMSHELL took to Twitter to trend the hashtag "#RespectParkBom" to get the attention of Park's agency D-NATION Entertainment.

However, like EVERGLOW Aisha's case, no official statement was released by D-NATION.

3. Former FANATICS Sika

Our last incident of a K-pop idol being scolded during a livestream concerned FANATICS Sika, although it was only heard in the background like Aisha.

In September 2020, during a live broadcast, four FANATICS members (Chaelin, Rayeon, Via, and Doi) were sitting on a couch while chatting with their fans. They were holding a special lottery at that time to decide which fan would win a drawing made by member Doi.

The members were each wearing short skirts or a mini-dress, exposing their legs since they didn't have any blankets or jackets to cover them. Because of that, someone who wasn't shown on the camera but was believed to be their fellow member Sika can be seen giving them jackets to cover up their legs.

But then, a few minutes later, a male voice can be heard, together with two instances of what sounded like someone being slapped.

The male (who was assumed to be a male staff member) said, "What are you doing, cover [their legs] up? We're trying to show them, why are you covering it? Are you stupid?"

The group's agency, FENT Entertainment, later released an apology stating, "We would like to apologize to the members and fans who were hurt by this." They added that they acknowledged that the staff member's inappropriate comment was wrong.
