BTS J-Hope to Perform on Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve

On Dec. 16, BTS took to its official Twitter account to announce that member J-Hope will be one of the performers on the famous American New Year's Eve television special.

At this year's "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve," which will be held in Time Square, BTS J-Hope will perform "= (Equal Sign)," "Chicken Noodle Soup," and "Butter (Holiday Remix)."

This year will mark the "Arson" singer's first time performing at the event as a soloist and his third time overall. BTS previously performed on the annual New Year's Eve television special in 2017 and 2019.

"Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve" also announced the participation of BTS J-Hope on its official Twitter account, as well as of Duran Duran, Jax, and New Edition.

Aside from the "Butter" singer, another Korean artist who's part of the lineup of performers is TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT). It was revealed on Dec. 7 that the boy group will perform their hit songs "Good Boy Gone Bad" and "0X1=LOVESONG (I Know I Love You)" feat. Seori on Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve at Disneyland.

"Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve" with Ryan Seacrest as host will air on Dec. 31 at 8p.m. ET on ABC Network.

BTS J-Hope Treats Attendees at Crush's Concert

In other news, it was revealed that BTS J-Hope treated all attendees at Crush's recent concert to sweet bungeo-ppang (fish-shaped pastry filled with sweetened red bean paste). The concert, which took place in Gwangju, was part of the soloist's domestic tour "Crush Hour." Gwangju is known to be J-Hope's hometown.

Outside the venue of the concert was a bungeo-ppang booth sent by the BTS member himself. There was a banner that said, "Everyone, come out to Hyoseob's first show. Hoseok is paying."

As many of you know, Crush and J-Hope collaborated this year for the chart-topping song "Rush Hour," released this past September.

"Rush Hour" debuted on multiple Korean music charts shortly after its release on Sept. 22. At 7 p.m. KST, it occupied No. 5 on Bugs, No. 30 on Genie, No. 33 on MelOn's real-time chart, and No. 33 on MelOn's Top 100. The song climbed up the charts the following hours.

On the daily charts on the same day, Crush and J-Hope's "Rush Hour" debuted at No. 3 on Bugs, No. 31 on MelOn, and No. 34 on Genie.

Other than that, "Rush Hour" managed to sweep the top spot on iTunes Song charts in at least 41 different regions, including Chile, Mexico, Brazil, the Philippines, and Indonesia. It even landed in the top 10 in 68 other regions, including the United States (where it took No. 2), Japan (No. 3), and the United Kingdom (No. 4).

Meanwhile, BTS J-Hope was included in the second lineup of performing acts at the upcoming 37th Golden Disc Awards with TikTok. This will mark his first time attending as a solo artist.

The 37th Golden Disc Awards with TikTok is scheduled on Jan. 7 and will begin at 8 p.m. KST. Taking place at the Rajamangala National Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, the awards ceremony will air live on JTBC.
