IU's Luxurious Estates Highlighted on KBS2's TV Show- Here's How Much They Cost

According to the Dec. 15 episode of KBS2's "Entertainment Company Live," IU purchased a luxurious villa in an area in Gangnam-gu, Seoul called "Eterno Cheongdam," which is still under construction and is expected to be done in December 2023.

Upon completion, Eterno Cheongdam is set to become South Korea's most expensive estate with its top floors-the Super Pent units-costing $26.5 million each.

The lavish 20-storey residential complex is designed by Pritzker Architecture Prize winner, Rafael Moneo, marking his first project in Asia.

The villa that the "Strawberry Moon" singer bought is said to be worth 13 billion won (over $9.9 million). It is worth noting that the entire pre-sale price was paid in full with cash.

Currently, IU is residing in a 56-storey Raemian Caelitus apartment complex, the tallest building in Yongsan District and is known for its amazing view of the Han River. The residential area costs around $2.6-3.3 million.

Yoo In Na, known to be a best friend of IU, as well as Zico and Crush are among the other celebrities living there.

Apart from the luxurious villa and apartment that she bought for herself, IU also bought a two-storey rural house in Yangpyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do, where her family lives. The house is valued at three billion won (approximately $3 million).

The "Eight" hitmaker even purchased an additional land surrounding the property at 800 million won (over $610,000).

According to IU's agency, Kakao Entertainment, the soloist purchased the house to use it for rest on the weekends.

"IU bought the house in order to rest comfortably with her family including her grandmother on the weekends," the company said.

But not only does IU go there to rest, she also steadily makes donations in Yangpyeong-gun.

Meanwhile, IU, who debuted as a singer at the age of 15 in 2008, has also received a lot of love as an actress and has established herself as one of the most beloved celebrities in Korea. With her successful career in the entertainment industry, it's no wonder she had managed to purchase luxurious estates for herself and her family.

IU's Agency Gives Update on Strong Legal Action Against Malicious Comments

In other news, EDAM Entertainment (a subsidiary label of Kakao Entertainment) posted an official statement on its social media account, saying, "Since last year, we have gathered evidence of perpetrators who repeatedly created malicious posts including obvious false facts, defamation, and personal attacks against IU on several anonymous communities including DC Inside and submitted a complaint through the law firm Shinwon."

The company added that the perpetrator admitted to all the criminal charges through the investigation, and as a result, they received a sentence of a fine of three million won (approximately $2,300) for violating the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection (defamation) and insult. The label also warned that they will continue to take strong legal action under a zero-tolerance policy.

Aside from IU, EDAM is also home to WOODZ and Shin Se Kyung.
