On Aug. 29, P NATION released an official statement to announce that DAWN is parting ways with the company, along with his then girlfriend HyunA. The label explained that the artists' departure follows the expiration of their exclusive contracts.

Now, the main question fans are asking is, "Why did DAWN leave P Nation?" Well, the answer to this was revealed by the male idol himself during his recent variety show appearance.

On the Dec. 18 broadcast of "Daejjok Counseling Center," hosted by Park Myung Soo and MONSTA X Joohoney, the "PING PONG" singer appeared as a guest.

During the interview, DAWN's departure from P NATION was brought up, and the male idol revealed the reason for this.

"It was nice to be in the same company as PSY. He helped me a lot," the artist said. "But I feel alive only when I experience and find something new."

DAWN's remark suggests that he decided to leave P NATION because he seeks something new to experience.

When asked if there were any love calls from large agencies after parting ways with P NATION, the "MONEY" singer shared, "There are a few, thankfully. But I'm worried. I'm not sure which company is better to go to. Wouldn't it be a good thing to just join a big company?"

As of this writing, DAWN has not been confirmed to be joining a new agency.

DAWN's Releases Under P NATION

DAWN joined PSY's agency in January 2019 after leaving CUBE Entertainment. Under P NATION, the male idol had several releases.

In November 20219, DAWN re-debuted as a soloist under his current name. (His previous stage name was E'DAWN when he was still a member of PENTAGON.) He dropped his first single "MONEY" on Nov. 5.

He made his first solo comeback in October 2020 with his first EP "DAWNDIDIDAWN," which contains the title song of the same name that features his then fellow P NATION artist Jessi. The track debuted and peaked at No. 13 on Billboard's World Digital Song Sales chart for the week ending on Oct. 24.

On March 3, DAWN teamed up with Demian for the latter's song "LOVE%." Six months later, he collaborated with his then girlfriend HyunA to release their first duet EP "1+1=1." The mini-album sold a total of 14,824 copies in South Korea, becoming the best-selling album produced by P NATION, bested only by HyunA's "I'm Not Cool," which sold 20,574 copies.

On June 16 this year, DAWN made another solo comeback with his single "Stupid Cool," which features the title song of the same name that he composed and wrote. This single is his last release under PSY's agency.

Following its release, "Stupid Cool" debuted at 99 on Bugs and No. 236 on Genie, and later peaked at No. 91 on Bugs and No. 197 on Genie.
