On February 5, NCT & SuperM Mark was suddenly embroiled in a dating rumor after people noticed his post was similar to another K-pop idol, who was none other than Oh My Girl Arin.

In particular, the female idol sparked speculations after posting a new photo on her personal Instagram on the same day.

In the post, Arin was seen recreating the popular "kissing the sun" pose, while facing right.

Just then, fans brought back a similar photo Mark posted in October last year, where he also kissed the sun while facing left. In fact, he even used it as his profile picture.

Fans then put the photos together and realized it was something that couples would most likely do.

Regardless of the long time gap between the two idols' postings, people claimed that Mark and Arin were dating because of these hints.

Following this, more "proofs" were pointed out by netters, such as Mark praising Suzy's beauty, the K-pop idol Arin resembles.

Fans also said it wasn't impossible for them to date in real life since they are in the same age, were classmates at the School of Performing Arts Seoul (SOPA), and maintained close relationships after debut.

Fans started comparing the rumored couple to IU and Lee Jong Suk, who recently announced their relationship after a decade of friendship.

NCT Mark & Oh My Girl Arin Dating: Idols' Agencies Debunk Rumor

On February 6, both sides of the K-pop idols dismissed rumors of a romantic relationship between Mark and Arin.

Mark's agency SM Entertainment officially stated through Newsen:

"The rumor of Mark's romantic relationship is groundless."

Arin's agency, WM Entertainment also told Newsen on the same day:

"The rumor of passionate love is groundless. The photo was taken by Arin's father during her family trip."

At the same time, NCTzens (NCT fans) and MIRACLEs (Oh My Girl fandom) defended both idols from malicious rumors, stating that Mark and Arin are just friends.

Also, the "Ay-Yo" singer is busy promoting NCT 127, NCT Dream and SuperM on top of his solo activities, so they don't think Mark will even have time to date.

In addition to this, not only Arin and Mark but also a number of stars and non-celebrities have taken pictures of the composition as if kissing the sun in the sky.
