BABYMONSTER Opens Official SNS Accounts

BABYMONSTER has opened their official accounts on various social media platforms!

On February 8, YG Entertainment's soon-to-debut girl group launched official accounts on Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.

BABYMONSTER is a seven-member new girl group that will be introduced by YG Entertainment after seven years since BLACKPINK debuted.

Starting in January 2023, the agency started introducing the members one by one through their individual live performance videos. Information about them is still limited, but they are said to be YG trainees carefully selected among thousands of idol-aspirants, and underwent professional training over the past years.

The group is also comprised of multinational members aged from 13 to 20 years old, wherein three are Koreans, two are Japanese, and two are Thais.

Currently, their concept is yet to be unveiled, and their debut date is also yet to be confirmed. Despite this, the members are already earning massive praise on YouTube for their excellent skills and talent, which aren't expected at their young age.

Is BABYMONSTER Ruka Going To Be Group's 'Ace'?

On the same day, video "BABYMONSTER - Introducing RUKA" was posted on the team's official YouTube channel.

There, Ruka's audition video in 2018 was shown, and esteemed dancer and choregrapher Lee Jung acknowledged the trainee's abilities.

"Ruka's biggest strength is that she's danced for a long time (for 13 years). Compared to her other friends, she has a clear understanding of dance and her level is definitely different. She has the best basic skills and experience."

Lee Jung also mentioned Ruka's dancing experience as her biggest strength and emphasized that her advantage is her experience that same-age trainees don't have. In fact, Ruka specializes in hip-hop dance.

Not only the professional dancer, but YG founder and producer Yang Hyun Suk praised Ruka.

"Ruka already knows how to dance well and you're good even with facial expressions. I don't think I've ever pointed out shortcomings in her dancing."

Lee Jung continued:

"She's a friend who always safely digests anything when I throw something at her (choreography). She has no ups and downs, danced the longest, and has the strongest basic skills. Not only with dance, but even when I ask her to do a freestyle, she can do something different."

Aside from Ruka's unrivaled dance skills, the Japanese trainee is also praised for her rap skills. BIGTONE said:

"Even when Ruka doesn't do anything, she possesses that 'hip-hop' vibe that makes people think she's a rapper."

The rapper trainer continued admiring the rookie's relaxed and natural gestures.

Following her introduction video, fans express excitement about Ruka's debut, admiring her for her dance skills, rap skills and singing abilities. Not only that, but she also has top visuals and pleasing personality. According to fans, Ruka also writes lyrics.

With all of her skills, people state that Ruka will most likely become BABYMONSTER's "Ace," possibly filling the position of the main dancer, main rapper, center, and leader.

  • "BABYMONSTER members well all aces, but she's the mother of aces."
  • "Ruka will become K-pop's next dancing machine."
  • "Her rapping is superb!"
  • "Her specialty is dancing but can't believe her rap and vocals will be this good."
  • "I love her visuals, she's suitable to become the center."
