Following SM Entertainment co-CEO Lee Sung Soo's video, Jumping BoAs demanded MYs to apologize to the senior idol who was ridiculously blamed for aespa's comeback delay.

SM's Co-CEO Chris Lee Reveals Real Reason For aespa's Delayed Comeback

On February 16, Lee Sung Soo (Chris Lee), the co-CEO and nephew of SM Entertainment's founder Lee Soo Man opened his YouTube channel. In a video, the CEO's first statement regarding the agency's infighting was then revealed.

In particular, among the issues he addressed, Lee specifically talked about the real reason aespa's supposed comeback on February 20 has been delayed.

The main reason told by Lee Sung Soo is that Lee Soo Man tried to use aespa for his real estate greed. The former said:

"The real reason aespa's comeback was delayed was because of tree planting, in other words, strange greed, stubbornness, and production that came out of this connected to Lee Soo Man's real estate business."

CEO Lee explained:

"At some point, Lee Soo Man (former general manager) suddenly emphasized tree planting and insisted that K-pop festivals should be held in each country. We ordered SMTOWN to check the artist's schedules and block them because we have to perform overseas and do the planning and production contracts.

Even though the co-representative (Lee Sung Soo, Tak Young Joon) indirectly expressed their intention to reject such instructions, the so-called teacher (Lee Soo-man) private project openly talked about 'SM does not cooperate with your work, SM missed the opportunity to make money,' However, this tree planting, sustainability, and ESG were actually able to coordinate the right to use the real estate."

He pointed out that aespa has to ultimately delay its music release due to its song lyrics featuring the phrase, "tree planting" which made the members distressed. Due to this, the company also has to review aespa's existing worldview, the color of the team, lyrics that don't match them, etc., before its comeback.

Jumping BoAs Demand MYs to Apologize For Blaming Icon For aespa's Comeback Delay

Following this news, not only MYs (aespa fandom) were enraged, but Jumping BoAs as well (BoA's fans), but not for the same reason.

BoA's supporters were especially raising their brows not towards SM but to MYs after their idol was ridiculously blamed for aespa's delayed comeback. In particular, some of the quartet's fans accused BoA of holding aespa's new music release because the two members (Karina & Winter) has to promote GOT the beat, the project girl group to which BoA also belongs.

Some MYs claimed that BoA is using aespa and the other members to stay "relevant" in the music scene, just because she wants to experience being in a group after promoting as a solo artist for more than two decades.

A lot of far-fetched claims were also thrown at BoA, such as using his power as an SM director.

But with Lee Sung Soo's video, BoA was cleared of all of those absurd claims by the fandom. But Jumping BoAs will not stay quiet and take all the humiliation their idol has to suffer, calling out MYs on social media platforms.
