PENTAGON Hui, who is back at being a trainee in Mnet's "Boys Planet," can't help but feel emotional after reuniting with former NU'EST and WANNA ONE Minhyun. Here's why.
PENTAGON Hui Conveys Emotion After Meeting Hwang Minhyun As Trainee
On February 16, Mnet's "Boys Planet" Episode 3 was aired, featuring the first mission carried out by the participants.
On this day, Hwang Minhyun finally made his first appearance as the MC of the program, earning massive attention from viewers and contestants. Moving forward, Minhyun will guide and support the "Boys Planet" trainees with his idol experience as well as sympathize with them as a former trainee who also joined a survival program.

When Hwang appeared, his participation in Mnet's "Produce 101" Season 2 was mentioned and with this, the male idol said:
"As a senior who challenged the survival program first, I think my small experience will be helpful."
Among the various reactions the trainees showed after Minhyun's appearance, K-pop enthusiasts' attention was particularly fixated on PENTAGON Hui.

This is because Hwang Minhyun after joining "Produce 101" S2 made it into the debut lineup and succeeded in joining a boy group called WANNA ONE. At the time, Hui, singer, songwriter, producer and member of the top-tier team PENTAGON was widely recognized for his musical abilities that he was tapped to make WANNA ONE's track, "Energetic." MC Hwang took part in performing it and immediately became a massive hit.
Unfortunately, the table has been reversed and despite his popularity back then, Hui is now starting from the very start as a trainee to regain his group's popularity which drastically fell due to his military enlistment and the agency's failure to give them frequent releases and promotion amid tough K-pop competition.

In a behind-the-scenes interview, Hui then expressed his feelings about being reunited with singer and actor Hwang Minhyun, saying:
"When (Hwang Minhyun) sunbaenim participated as a trainee in (Produce 101 Season 2, he sang a song I produced.
"But now I'm a trainee and (Hwang Minhyun sunbaenim) came as a master, a lot of emotions crossed that I can describe with words."
Following the broadcast, fans felt emotional as well, given the saddening turn of events for Hui. Nevertheless, viewers are strongly rooting for him and hope that more people will come to know and love both Hui and PENTAGON.
'Boys Planet' Episode 3: PENTAGON Hui Ranks #1 in Signal Song Evaluation
Following the Episode 3 broadcast of "Boys Planet," it appears that Hui is doing well among global fans.
During the first meeting between MC and trainees, Minhyun delivered the rankings for their signal song stage fan cam and evaluation. This means that among the 98 contestants, 18 trainees in total from K and Group shone best.
In the K group, Lee Hoe Taek (Hui's real name) incredibly took first place. When asked about his feelings, the "Daisy" singer briefly responded:
"I think I'm so happy because I think many people are cheering for me."
Meanwhile, Mnet "Boys Planet" airs every Thursday at 8:50 p.m. KST.
