Mnet's brand new survival show Boys Planet has released its first two episodes, causing worldwide buzz.

Boys Planet Showcases Cover Performances, Heating Up The Competition

On February 2, Boys Planet released its first two episodes, engaging fans on its intense competition and energetic performances.

Boys Planet is the male version of "Girls Planet 999," the show who formed girl group Kep1er. In the survival show, contestants will aim for the top nine to debut, and worldwide audiences have never been more on edge since they will witness their formation.

On Episode 1, the trainees were introduced on the show. It also proposed the separation of the K-group, which consists of trainees in Korea, and G-group (global), which involves foreign trainees. The contestants are also shocked to see PENTAGON Hui on the show, raising curiosity on why the idol participating.

The judge panel consists of Baek Kooyoung, Choi Youngjoon, and Lip J, who are in charge of dance. On the vocal department, we have EXID Solji, Lee Sok Hoon, and Lim Hanbyeol. Lastly, we have pH-1 for rap.

Boys Planet Episode 2: Sunmi's Appearance, Vocal Training, More

While Episode 1 introduced us to the survival show, its contestants, and their star power, the second episode focused on their vocal and dance training. It also showed us how they will be honed further by the judges, in terms of vocals, dance, and rap.

Episode 2 presented audiences with Sunmi's appearance as Star Master. On the episode, she watched the first chapter of Boys Planet with the contestants. The "Heart Burn" singer was seen laughing along with the contestants, as they watched the first episode.

It also showcased the stage covers of "Zero For Conduct" by Block B Bastarz, and "Mirotic" by TVXQ. Boys Planet also featured Takuto, G-group's youngest contestant, who performed "Instead of Saying Goodbye" by Rain. It was followed by a performance of SHINee's "Replay," and ATEEZ's "The Real."

Lastly, Boys Planet showed PENTAGON Hui's performance of BLACKPINK's "Shut Down."
