VIXX Ravi Confesses to Military Service Violation Charges + Court Dismisses Idol's Arrest Warrant

VIXX Ravi's arrest warrant has been dropped, after the idol allegedly attempted to avoid military service.

On March 6, the Seoul Southern District Court investigated Ravi for allegedly breaking the Military Service act, which was spearheaded by chief judge Kim Ji Sook.

The court examined Ravi's arrest warrant legality, and eventually ended up dismissing the warrant because of evidence tampering or risk of escaping. While Ravi did admit to his charges, the judge concluded the arrest warrant unnecessary.

The court elaborated that although military service evasion is a serious charge, it was also a basic etiquette to investigate suspects without detaining them. With Ravi's confession to the charges also played a role in lightening up the case.

They also explained that arresting Ravi isn't just necessary, but also difficult, due to the idol's stable career, residence, and social connections.

Furthermore, the court has proceeded to trial comprising of 23 individuals. According to sources, it's reported that a total of 100 individuals from various professions are being investigated by authorities. Among these 100 people involved "Mr. Gu," the broker who provided fake epilepsy diagnoses.

"It's clear that these charges are serious matters. However, it is also standard to investigate suspects without arresting them. To disclose the evidence we have collected, Rabi has confessed to the charges."

"It is difficult to arrest him, since his stable career, residence, and social ties are also essential factors to consider during the process."

On January 12, Korean news outlets reported that authorities arrested a group of brokers for charges of corruption, in order to avoid military service.

On their attempts, the brokers assigned their clients to a neurologist to forge them a false medical diagnosis of epilepsy. This attempt was for the brokers to either gain a reduced military grade or be exempted from duty.

These brokers claimed that a well-known idol rapper had also gained access to their service, which led to a successful obtainment of a Grade 4 (non-active duty) military evaluation. Eventually, Ravi became the idol under consideration, since he departed from KBS2's "2 Days & 1 Night" in May 1, 2022 and started his military service in October 27, 2022.

On January 12, VIXX's label GROOVL1N broke their silence on the allegations. The agency stated they would first investigate the situation's veracity, as well as Ravi's involvement.
