TWICE Chaeyoung Apologizes for Wearing T-Shirt With Controversial Imagery

On March 21, TWICE Chaeyoung uploaded an apology on her Instagram account, where she addressed the T-shirt she wore with a swastika design.

In the now-deleted photo, the shirt contained a picture of Sid Vicious from Sex Pistols, who wore a T-shirt embedded with a swastika. This imagery is highly controversial due to it being the representative symbol for the German Nazi party, and the focal point of the Nazi flag.

Regarding her apology, Chaeyoung spoke about the issue at hand. The "Fancy" songstress elaborated she didn't properly recognize the swastika layout, as well as its meaning.

Furthermore, Chaeyoung assured that she will do her best to be more aware of these matters and not repeat the same mistake again in the future.

"Hello. This is Chaeyoung from TWICE.

I sincerely apologize regarding the Instagram post. I didn't correctly recognize the meaning of the tilted swastika in the T-shirt I wore.

I deeply apologize for not thoroughly reviewing it, which led to causing concerns. I will pay absolute attention in the future to prevent any situation similar from happening again.

Once again, I sincerely apologize."
