BTS Jimin Becomes 1st Korean Artist to Achieve THIS With Solo Album 'FACE'

BTS Jimin Attains Highest-Ranking Solo Debut on Billboard 200 With Album 'FACE'

On April 2, Billboard disclosed that Jimin of BTS had entered the Top 200 Albums chart for the first time.

Billboard 200 records the weekly ranking of the most trending albums in the United States. Jimin's first solo album "FACE" made its entry at No. 2 on Billboard 200, which led him to become the first Korean soloist in history to secure the top 2.

Jimin has also surpassed singer Olivia Rodrigo, who previously charted "Sour" at No. 1 back in June 5, 2021. With this, Jimin's "FACE" is now the highest-ranking solo debut on Billboard 200.

Regarding its data from Luminate (previously known as Nielsen Music), "FACE" secured 164,000 equivalent album units through the week ending on March 30.

Jimin's solo debut album comprised of 124,000 traditional album sales, achieving the biggest U.S. sales week for a soloist and the third-biggest overall for 2023.

It also garnered 13,500 streaming equivalent album (SEA) units, which converts to a total of 19.51 million on-demand audio streams.

The album also collected 26,500 track equivalent album (TEA) units on its first week. This gave "FACE" the largest first-week TEA digit-figure since Taylor Swift's "Midnights," who made headlines on the chart of November 19, 2022.

BTS Jimin's Solo Debut Album 'FACE' Debuts on Oricon Charts

Apart from Billboard, Jimin's "FACE" also entered Oricon. On March 26, BIGHIT MUSIC announced that the album debuted on Oricon's daily album chart at No. 1, through selling 222, 120 copies in Japan.

The sellouts occurred on the first day of its release, proving the album's skyrocketing popularity. Its title track "Like Crazy" also joined on Oricon's daily digital singles chart, which placed at No. 1, surpassing his pre-release track "Set Me Free Pt. 2," on March 17.

The B-sides of "FACE" also received recognition on the chart's top 10. "Set Me Free Pt. 2" maintained its position at No. 3, followed by "Face-off" which claimed No. 4, "Like Crazy (English Version) at No. 5, "Alone" at No. 6, and "Interlude : Dive" at No. 7.

On Spotify, "Like Crazy (English Version)" landed at No. 2 on its daily Global Top Songs chart with a staggering 6,634,838 filtered first-day streams. Moreover, "Set Me Free Pt. 2" earned its spot on No. 8, "Face-off" at No. 35," "Aline" at No. 44, and "Interlude : Dive" at No. 62.

With the first quarter of 2023 ending, Jimin is expected to reach more accumulated results with his solo debut album "FACE."

"Like Crazy" contains synth-pop elements, which was produced by Pdog and Ghstloop. It was also written by the aforementioned producers, alongside with Blvsh, Chris James, Evan, Jimin, and his fellow bandmate RM.
