Paris Hilton Gives Opinion of New Movie "The Bling Ring"

The new film, "Bling Ring," starring Emma Watson, Katie Chang and others, focuses on a group of teenagers who break into the homes of celebrities like Paris Hilton. The Southern California teenagers at the center of the movie break into the surprisingly unprotected homes of celebrities and steal whatever catches their eye, whether it be shoes, dresses, handbags, watches or rolls of cash.

It is not out of necessity that they steal, but rather, boredom. The leader of the group of thieves is a reckless but nonchalant in attitude girl named Rebecca (Katie Chang). When she and her new friend Marc (Israel Broussard) visit Paris Hilton's empty mansion, she doesn't only want to take her expensive accessories, she wants to feel like they actually belong to her.

Paris Hilton has hopes for what viewers take away from "The Bling Ring," the Sofia Coppola-directed film. "There's much more to life than all of these possessions and everything. And if you want those things, you're gonna have to work yourself, just like I did," she said during an interview with ELLE Magazine.

The film shows Paris's lavish home, which is filled with a myriad of material objects, from pillows with her image on them, to a 6-foot, 2-story doghouse, which reportedly cost $350,000 to build.

The teenagers get away with the robberies with surprising ease, as the Internet tells them when a given celebrity - Orlando Bloom, Audrina Patridge, Lindsay Lohan and Megan Fox, in addition to Ms. Hilton - is out of town hosting a benefit or shooting a movie.

Once the main characters are caught, the explanations they offer as juvenile as the thought process behind the crimes. Nicki, the meanest and most ambitious of the group, views the whole experience as "a learning lesson" that will ultimately help her achieve her goal of leading a major philanthropic organization.

And while Paris says that there is more to life than material goods, Hilton told ELLE Magazine that she hopes some of the $2 million in items that the "Burglar Bunch" lifted from her home during their famed 2008-2009 crime spree - upon which the film is based- get returned.

If she came face to face with the robbers, Hilton said she would tell them: "I don't know what I'd do if I saw them. I'm not a confrontational person. But I would literally be like, 'You guys need serious help. And I want my stuff back.'"
