Love triangles always make for juicy gossip, and Hollywood has yet another tantalizing story. One Direction's Harry Styles is said to have his sights set on Selena Gomez. The only problem is that the crooner used to date Taylor Swift who is best friends with Selena Gomez.

At their Mexico City concert during their "Take Me Home" tour, the One Direction boys took a break from performing to answer some questions asked by followers on Twitter. When the boys were asked what celebrity they would want to date, Harry Styles immediately said Selena Gomez.

However, the story is only a rumor and has not officially been confirmed as being factual. Most would like to believe in its validity, especially after Taylor Swift's public dissing of Harry Styles at various awards shows and concerts, but Styles has only had positive things to say about his ex-girlfriend. Therefore, suddenly professing his vying romantic feelings for Selena Gomez, seem uncharacteristic at best.

Still, Styles has acquired quite the romantic reputation. The curly-haired singer is often seen partying and cozying up to unknown females and celebrities alike. The other members of One Direction have even admitted to Styles being the most promiscuous member of the group.

Most recently, Styles has been linked to dating Kimberly Stewart. Selena Gomez is still reported to be off and on with longtime boyfriend Justin Bieber, however, they have been more off than on. Selena Gomez has even been flaunting how single she is with the release of her seductive new song, "Come and Get it." And Bieber does not seem to be crying over the brunette bombshell, as he is reported to have been with various Playboy models and unnamed women while on tour abroad.

In Hollywood, though, nothing is impossible, and it would not come as a shock if a friendship were to be torn apart by love. So maybe, just maybe, there is some truth to the rumors and we will see a budding relationship between Selena Gomez and Harry Styles.
