TEMPEST Hwarang Called Out By 'Fan' For Changing Hair Color, Criticizing Current Look

Recently, a video clip of a male idol during a fan signing event spread on social media platforms and online communities.

In particular, the main character is TEMPEST Hwarang— and he became a hot topic for his interaction with an iE (pronounced as "eye"), its fandom.

Unfortunately, the reason why he drew attention wasn't delighting, rather, it is frustrating for those who came across the topic.

As a context, the K-pop boy group TEMPEST just had their first fansign after its comeback with a new mini-album, " THE CALM BEFORE THE STORM," introducing its title track, "DANGEROUS."

While it was supposed to be a happy meeting between the members and its fandom, the event left a heartbreak to both Hwarang and his fans after a certain iE attended the fansign and went to criticize the male idol.

In the video, Hwarang was seen talking to that fan happily when his facial expression suddenly changed like he was on the brink of crying.

According to those who attended and filmed the video, Hwarang was criticized by a fan who told him that his visuals weren't as good as before after changing his hair color to black.

Before the comeback, Hwarang has always been flaunting blue hair and apparently, the fan demanded the male star to go wash his hair and go back to having such hair color than black.

After hearing this, Hwarang tried to force a smile and laugh at the fan's "jab" but he wasn't able to hide it that much with the recognizable pain in his eyes and flushing due to embarrassment.

iE Comforted TEMPEST Hwarang, Criticized Fan

When the video was uploaded, the fandom iE immediately comforted Hwarang and praised his visuals, telling him that he looks best regardless of his hair color.

They also praised him for his professionalism, where he managed his emotion amid the fansign, just to ensure that the event won't be disturbed.

On the flip side, the fandom is quick to criticize the so-called fan and emphasized that she was extremely rude for saying that. In particular, idols especially rookies don't have that much say when it comes to their hair colors, thus, it wasn't right to come at the idol's visuals.

Meanwhile, this is not the first time that an idol was harshly criticized during a fan signing event. A month ago, NMIXX Sullyoon became a hot topic when a fansite master called her out for not looking at her camera when he was taking pictures.

Sullyoon tried to explain to the fansite master but after the conversation, the female wasn't able to hold herself back and shed tears.
