SM Entertainment's idol group SHINee are well known for their unique style and powerful stage performances.

And now the guys have been invited to perform at the world-famous Ultra Music Festival in Korea.

They join the line-up of famed DJs and electronic musicians as special guests and will collaborate on stage with well-known DJ performance team BeatBurger on June 15.

SHINee will showcase three of their popular hit songs including their recent single "Dream Girl."

The Ultra Music Festival is a weekend-long show boasting some of the best DJs from around the world. It began in Miami, Florida in 1999, and has since expanded to other locations around the world.

This weekend marks the second year for the festival's Seoul outpost which will be held at the Jamsil Sports Complex June 14 and 15.

Because the Ultra Music Festival celebrates the best in electronic music, it seems peculiar that a K-Pop idol group would be invited to the stage.

But SHINee is unlike any other boy band in South Korea.

Their latest album gave the group a chance to explore other sides of themselves and their music with the groovy Chapter 1. Dream Girl - The Misconceptions of You and melodic Chapter 2. Why So Serious? - Misconceptions of Me.

The two parts incorporate the plethora of styles SHINee explores in their music, including electronic beats and funky rhythms.

Their single "Dream Girl" has been described as "acid electro funk" and the latest album as a whole includes references to 80's synth pop and uses unique electronic production elements blended with the members' harmonies to create some very forward-thinking pop music.

Additionally, since 2009 the Ultra Music Festival, in all of its worldwide locations, has been branching out and trying to incorporate a variety of special guests to add substance and create new intriguing sounds for the festival-goers.

And, of all the K-Pop idol groups out there, SHINee definitely have a sound that is easily fused with the mission of the Ultra Music Festival.
