Reports indicate that all members of the globally renowned K-pop group BTS are planning to enlist in the military by the end of this year. Following the enlistment of the oldest member, Jin, last year, as well as J-hope, discussions have arisen regarding how the remaining members will enlist to ensure a group reunion in 2025.

According to industry insiders and a Naver report, BTS members Suga, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook are all expected to fulfill their military duties before the year concludes.

The report stated, "They will fulfill their scheduled activities, such as Suga's world tour and Jungkook's solo ventures in the first half of the year. Despite being eligible for postponement, Jimin, V, and Jungkook have decided to prioritize their military service and reunite with fans sooner."

Unfair Enlistment for V and Jungkook Say Fans

Fans have taken to social media to express their discontent. One fan expressed their frustration, stating that it is unfair for V and Jungkook to be enlisted when there are still members in their 30s who have yet to serve.

They perceive this as a decision driven by the agency's desire for financial gain and criticize both the agency and the fandom for their actions.

One fan stated by tweet, “Unfair !Tae n JK have years left when they have 30Year ols members still to enlist and they are forcing 25year old who is yet start their career to enlist for money ..money hungry agency n most selfish fandom…karma will be the end”.

One fan tweeted, “All the people saying that Jk wants to go at this moment might not understand what extreme pressure and guilt tripping probably was put on him to go: Age hierarchy, company grooming, fan pressure. A 2025 group CB could happen and he could leave 2 years after that.”

Another fan joined the thread and said, “that company is so weird??? talking abt enlistment when two members haven't even debuted yet”.

 This fan also tweeted “How unfair for Tae & JK to be given very limited time & space to promote their solo albums! Why these 2 have to suffer the most? Amidst heartwarming sentiments circulating across media platforms, some fans are commenting and comforting other fans through kind comments.

One fan commented, “Nobody forced them, and it’s better if they ALL enlist now than later. It would be odd to have such a large gap between everyone’s enlistment times. Since Jin and Hobi have already left, and come back next year, it would be odd to wait YEARS AFTER that to enlist Tae and Jk”.

 Then one fan also replied in a thread, “they probably just wanna all go together because lots of groups have fallen apart when they've enlisted individually”.

Another fan commented “The sooner they go the faster they’ll be back” this is helping me stay positive BTS will be still reigning and dominating the music scene even when on a hiatus It’s been almost a year already but they’re still on top because they OWN THE THEONE & NOBODY COULD EVER COMPETE”.

Under South Korean law, men are obligated to serve 18 months in the military before they reach the age of 28. However, a special provision was made for BTS, allowing them to postpone their service until the age of 30.
