Park Bo Gum Invites OH MY GIRL Mimi To Join Ice Bucket Challenge – What's their Relationship?

On July 11, one of the most popular Korean actors Park Bo Gum certified his participation in the 2023 Ice Bucket Challenge by posting a video on Instagram.

As a short context, this challenge way back in 2014 started to emerge again in South Korea after singer Sean posted his video to commemorate the construction of Korea’s first hospital for ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease) patients. He then challenged Park Bo Gum, IU, and Cho Won Hee to continue the challenge.

The actor gladly accepted the challenge and later on invited Kwak Dong Yeon, THE BOYZ Q, and Oh My Girl Mimi as the next runners.

While the actor and the male idol are friends, Park Bo Gum is known to have no special friendship with the K-pop female star.

People tried to speculate their relationship, and highlighted the supposed reason Park Bo Gum noticed Mimi - and it's hilariously embarrassing!

In particular, Mimi, the main cast of tvN's "Earth Arcade," was completing a mission game when she suddenly blurted "Kim Bum Soo" when Park Bo Gum's photo appeared due to pressure to answer it correctly. 

When Lee Young Ji and the members told her she can't save her answer, Mimi publicly apologized and said, "Taek, I love you," a reference to the actor's character in the hit drama, "Reply 1988."

However, it didn't end there since the show's producer, PD Na Young Seok, revealed that Park Bo Gum is actually a huge fan of the show.

Sweating coldly, the embarrassed Mimi asked and drew laughter:

 "You don't like me, right?"

It seemed like Park Bo Gum had watched the episode and got his little "revenge" by nominating Mimi to join the 2023 Ice Bucket Challenge.

As a response, OH MY GIRL Mimi responded to the actor's invitation to participate in the "Ice Bucket Challenge" and uploaded her video on July 12.

In the video, Mimi particularly drew attention by calling her "Park Bo Gum-sunbae" with her usual poor pronunciation, but trying to speak as clearly as possible.

People continue to tease the K-pop star in the comments.

• "She can never forget the name of Park Bo Gum anymore."
• "She knows who's Park Bo Gum now."
• "Park Bo Gum aimed for it."

Continuing the challenge, Mimi also nominated singer Ali, WINNER Kim Jin Woo, and rapper Lee Young Ji.

People who heard this started to tease her again by pointing out that Kim Bum Soo wasn't nominated.
