List of Best K-pop Songs in History Garners Mixed Reactions from Music Fans: 'This is so wrong in so many ways'

Fans are having mixed reactions on Rolling Stone's list of best K-pop songs in history, with many of them stating their true feelings on the song choices and rankings.

On July 20, Rolling Stone released their list of "The 100 Greatest Songs in the History of Korean Pop Music," which enumerated the most prominent songs over the genre's long-standing timeline throughout the years.

The list covered a total of 100 songs released by numerous Korean artists, including both soloists and idol groups. It listed the most popular songs such as "Gee" by SNSD, "Spring Day" by BTS, "Me Gustas Tu," by GFRIEND, and many more.

Since it contained artists who transcended from one generation to another, the music that became prominent at their respective eras followed through. However, despite the intention to enumerate variety, this didn't sit well with fans who claimed that some artists' music were overlooked.

On Twitter, many fans commented how some artists and their music weren't included. They mentioned why girl group Dreamcatcher's exclusion despite their notable sound using rock and metal elements, which divert outside K-pop's exterior of EDM releases.

They also pointed out artists such as Sunmi or IVE not being on the list and commented how some songs were ranked lower than expected.
