Former SISTAR Soyou Reveals How To Lose 8kg Weight WITHOUT Exercise

Soyou Opens Up on Idol's Physique Stereotype + Shares Weight Gain, Loss Journey

In her recent TV guesting, Soyou, one of the female stars with the hottest bodies in the K-pop scene, dropped her secret behind a "golden-ratio" physique — without exercise and compromising your love for alcohol!

On July 25, the second-gen idol appeared as a special guest in SBS' "Strong Heart League," hosted by Kang Ho Dong and Lee Seung Gi.

During the show, Soyou told stories related to diet, which is popular on YouTube for her channel containing exercise and diet-related videos.

In fact, the "Touch my body" singer revealed that some of her subscribers would forget that she's originally a singer. 

"I sometimes think I'm a person who posts exercise-related content. At times, when I uploaded a video of me singing, they would comment, 'Right, she used to be a singer.'"

As the conversation about her YouTube channel gets deeper, Soyou confessed that she purposely gained and lot weight for her video content and clarified a stereotype among K-pop idols and celebrities that they lose weight easily with proper management.

"Celebrities are no different. We also exercise and lose weight by going on a diet."

Soyou gave an example of her on-and-off weight gain and weight loss, saying:

"When I shot a commercial for Cola, I tried to maintain my weight between 50 to 55kg and then tried to gain the weight back up to 65kg later, but I didn't gain it well even if I tried to gain it for three months.

I succeeded in gaining weight to 62.4kg but after that, I had mild obesity. I lost 8kg by doing it for a little over a month."

Soyou Unveils Diet Tips To Lose 8kg Without Exercise

Hearing this, the MCs and audiences were surprised. When asked what is her secret to losing 8kg without exercise, Soyou said:

"I went to Paris earlier this year and got a leg injury."

Because of her injury (ruptured ligament), she was banned from exercising for two months.

However, she was concerned that her album was coming, and yet even aerobic exercise was prohibited as her legs were still healing.

As a result, Soyou tried the ketogenic diet, which was suggested by the people around her. She explained:

"If you eat a lot of fat, your brain can make mistake and burns that fat as fuel. I almost didn't eat carbohydrates and sugars."

For breakfast and lunch, she had scrambled eggs, avocados, bacon, and bulletproof coffee (butter/keto coffee).

For dinner, Soyou said that this is the time she could eat whatever she wants, as long as it is not carbohydrates (e.g., bread, milk, corn, potatoes, pasta, etc.).

Soyou added:

"I also took out the corn in the salad and ate it. I can eat both pork belly and gopchang (small intestines), but I didn't eat cold noodles."

Soyou emphasized that this diet is also perfect for alcohol lovers!

"If you go on a keto diet, you can still drink alcohol."

But there is also a risk in doing the diet, Soyou pointing out that it is hard to maintain the diet.

Nevertheless, Soyou flaunted her current impressive physique, the result of her keto diet for six months.
