Eris and netizens have divided opinions over a video of EXO D.O. where he was seen allegedly smoking a vape. What happened?

On August 3, EXO, who dropped their seventh studio album "EXIST" on July 10, posted the behind-the-scenes clips during their music broadcast appearance on YouTube channel.

In the video, the members were seen preparing for their comeback stage featuring the title track, "Cream Soda." The clip also showed the behind-the-scenes of their dance challenge videos, with various artists including Sandara Park, NCT 127 Jungwoo, ZEROBASEONE (ZB1), and TREASURE (T5).

Following its upload, the vlog drew attention from various fandoms, commemorating the interaction between the aforementioned idols.

Just then, one fan on Twitter also celebrated the "crumbs" between EXO and LOONA and decided to cut the part where the boy group was monitoring other artists' performances.

Apparently, the group that was on the TV was ODD EYE CIRCLE, who dropped their new EP, "Version UP," on July 12, coinciding with EXO's promotions.

At first glance, viewers didn't notice anything odd from the original video until the fan posted the clip, zooming in on EXO D.O. The idol was seen standing still when he suddenly let out smoke from his nose.

It was only a matter of minutes when the now-deleted video spread among the K-pop fandom community, and claimed that D.O. was smoking. They also highlighted the thing the idol was holding, which seemed to be a vape.

While it is no secret that there are numerous K-pop idols who are smoking, some were quick to call out the idol for allegedly vaping indoors.

After the incident, EXO's official channel immediately re-uploaded the video and cut out the part where D.O. was seen exhaling steam. The OP on Twitter also deleted their post. However, a lot of other netters already saved the clip by then, and is still circulating online.

Due to this, the original uploader is earning massive backlash from EXO-Ls, criticizing them for bringing attention to that certain part by posting and editing it.

In the fan's defense, they didn't notice it because they were so invested in watching the ODD EYE CIRCLE performing. The original caption, "he was feeling it," wasn't meant for the vape as well but for the song that was playing.

Amid the hate they are receiving, there are also Eris who are defending the OP and asked what's wrong about an adult smoking.

On the flip side, other fans questioned netizens if it was indeed a vape since it wasn't clear, suggesting that it could be a handheld humidifier commonly used by vocalists for greater and clearer performance.
