SHINee Taemin Opens Up About Feeling 'Embarrassed' Around Junior Idols — Here's Why

Taemin has opened up on a talk segment as to why he's embarrassed meeting his fellow junior idols.

Here's what the "MOVE" singer said!

SHINee Taemin Shares Why He's Embarrassed Meeting Junior Idols

On the newly released interview episode of former Wonder Girls member Ahn Sohee, Taemin sat down with the idol for a good old-fashioned conversation through iced coffee.

The two legendary 2nd-gen K-pop maknaes discussed numerous topics, delving through their memories together during K-pop's golden days, Taemin's dynamics with other SHINee members, and many more.

Taemin is one of the most respected and admired idols in the K-pop industry. With his longtime experience in the music scene, amplified by his passion for performing, Taemin has inspired many artists in the current generation and upcoming ones.

Due to this veteran experience, Taemin ended up sharing how he feels "embarrassed" every time he sees his fellow junior idols. He explained that it was originally awkward for him since he debuted at 14 years old, thus making him younger than his juniors, but with more experience as a K-pop idol.

Taemin: "When I see my juniors, I think I feel embarrassed."

Sohee: "Why?"

Taemin: "It's because I debuted pretty early. Even when I was a senior, I was quite young. Now it's like this in the 16th year, in a stage where friends of the same age are no longer there. When I see them recording, they're just babies."

Taemin: "Our seniors g.o.d and Shinhwa, they would feel the same way when they see us."

Sohee: "You must have seen it that way, right? Babies come like this, 'Hello, this is SHINee. Hello, this is Wonder Girls,' it must be so cute."

Their conversation then transitioned to the generational gap in the K-pop industry and Taemin's unchanging visuals.

Sohee: "These days, the youngest idols are born in 2006. It's a palpable generation gap."

Taemin: "In just a little while, they are even younger idols than when we debuted. I'm still not thinking about it too much. I look rather young."

Sohee: "You look so young."

Taemin: "Me? You tell me 'You look so young,' you are too."

Sohee: "Yes, I know."
